Deluxe Resorts with good standard rooms

We had a standard view of the Marina at Polynesian, sadly that's now classified as a marina/pool view.

We had a standard one year and then garden another year at Beach Club. Our garden view was of a trees and bushes. Our standard was a parking lot, but with an AMAZING view of Spaceship Earth! One of our favorite room views.

Favorite standard room was at the Poly in the Samoa building. Had a great view of the Lava Pool. We just got back from AKL and had a standard room. We saw giraffes, gazelles and other animals from our room every day. After our stay, I could not have imagined spending an extra grand for the week for a Savannah view room.

We did bay lake view standard room in Contemporary Atrium tower in 2016. Very nice at night and perfect view of the water parade. There is also a huge ferris wheel across the lake all lit up at night. never found out what park it is, I know it's not a Disney park. This year we did a Standard room Atrium tower on the theme park side and we watched the fireworks a few nights from the balcony.

We are not cheap but don't really think paying a lot of money for a view makes a whole lot of sense. We never book anything but a standard view. Having said that, the standard view rooms we have found most delightful were at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness Lodge, and Boulder Ridge. We will do our due diligence and request specific areas by fax.
