Are there any deluxe resort that do not have ceiling fans after all of the rehabs? We love having one so if one resort doesn't could be a deal breaker....

I can only speak for the Polynesian, but as of last Nov, at least in the regular rooms (not villas or bungalows), there was no ceiling fan that we remember seeing. Hope this helps!

Contemporary doesn't have them. Yacht Club post renovations does not have them.

We have always stayed in Samoa & Fiji bldgs & they had ceiling fans. But, this last trip we were aotearoa & it didn’t have one.

We were in Fiji last July and we didn't have a ceiling fan. We called housekeeping though and they brought in a box fan.

Oh interesting so I guess not all rooms have them then no matter what bldg. We have always been in king bed rooms.

Grand Floridian has been removing the ceiling fans, I believe they have finished and all rooms now feature a light fixture in its place.

They started removing them during last summer. Guess you got a room they hadn't gotten to yet.

Oh really? So it’s new that they’re taking them out? I thought the opposite. Why would they do that I wonder especially in FL? Ceiling fans are so much more efficient than running the a/c constantly.

I have no idea. When they did room refurbs at Yacht Club recently they were all removed.

When we stayed at Boardwalk Villas in late 2016 they still had the fans.

I think it was a big mistake to remove the ceiling fans. Anyone know the reasoning behind it? I realize it's just another thing that requires some cleaning and maintenance but I certainly miss them. A box fan just doesn't cut it. We aren't summer people, we visit in December so it's not mission critical but I can't imagine being in a hotel room in the hot months without a ceiling fan....JS.
