Ok, I know this question has probably been asked a gazillion times, but we're in the very basic steps of planning another trip so,

What would be the best deluxe resort for a first time onsite stay (second WDW visit) and why?

I'm mainly looking for:
-Convenience to the parks/transportation (best bus service?)
-Convenience to dining locations (we're looking at getting the dining plan)
-Decent sized and nice rooms
-Nice pool (though not the highest priority)

Thanks! :thumbsup2

If you want the most dining opportunities and easy transportation I would say Yacht Club (full balconies). You have several resorts and the Boardwalk within walking distnace not to mention all of World Showcase for dining opportunities, walking distance to both EPCOT and the Studios. Bus transportation to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. There is also a boat to EPCOT and the studios if you don't want to walk. If you want to stay in the magic Kingdom area I'd recommend any of those resorts, although with Contemporary you can walk to the Magic Kingdom. Polynesian has two monorails at it's disposal; and the volcano pool, buyt the pool at YC is hard to beat.

:goodvibes I'll second YC/BC.You have so many dining choices and activites literally right outside your door.Plus SAB is great for swimming.:goodvibes

MK monorail resorts are great. They are so convenient. We love the Poly! There are threads on all of the resorts here.

If you'll be eating at the World Showcase in Epcot for a lot of meals, then nothing beats staying at an Epcot resort. You can walk right in to the World Showcase every night for dinner if you want. These resorts include Boardwalk Inn, Yacht Club, Beach Club. You also obviously have the boardwalk restaurants right there. And you can walk/boat to HS/MGM too.

The monorail resorts are also convenient to parks and also dining. These include GF, Poly, CR. WL is not on the monorail loop, but you can get to MK via boat.

AKL is the final deluxe resort and it has only bus transportation (no monorail, no boat, no walking paths....). However, it's a truly unique resort that you may want to check out. It does not share buses with other resorts.

I'm voting for the Polynesian:
- on the monorail, so access to all the restaurants in the Poly, Grand Floridian, Contemporary,as well as MK and Epcot.
-vocano pool
- some of the newer rooms are HUGE.
