If you were to arrange a trip for 2 weeks or more, would you still go Deluxe? Or would you change your resort to something more economical?

I love the Poly, but it's not financially possible to stay there for 2 weeks so I'm considering all my options.

So, what would YOU do? :sunny:

I love the Poly too! I would probably do a split. One week at a mod and the last at the Poly!

Hmm ... maybe you could split your trip between two deluxe resorts like AKL and Poly. When you stay at the Poly, make sure you do MK and Epcot since you'll have monorail access. When you stay at AKL, you could spend more time relaxing by the pool and watching the animals. At least that's what I did last trip :)

Or you could just stay the entire time at a slightly cheaper deluxe ... like AKL or WL.

We've only stayed at deluxes so far but last week we visited POFQ and were BLOWN away by this place. We couldn't help but crunch the numbers where we were staying(Boardwalk) against this place. I stood there thinking "Man, why aren't we staying here?" All because of a balcony? Kind of stupid when I started thinking about it.(Just for myself of course, I understand why other posters may choose to stay other places :goodvibes: ) The food court was awesome and I swear cheaper than the deluxe food courts, the pools were so cute and there was launch transportation to DTD. Next time I'm going mod and going longer.

Our WDW trips are 2 weeks long due to the distance we have to travel (9 hour flight.) We love the deluxe resorts so we stay DVC. Our best friends own points at the Beach Club Villas and we stay with them. I think even if we did not travel with them we would rent points from a DVC member. We find this works well.

When my kids were younger & in preschool and grade school we would go for 2 weeks or more at a time. I loved those days!!! :earboy2:

We would just do deluxe as we were too spoiled to do anything else. No codes, no discounts - no deals! :guilty: Dumb, but spoiled.

Now, we are older, wiser, and more conscious (Just a bit ;) ) of how we spend our $$$$. We split our stays between deluxe MK resorts and Dolphin or Swan. ( We joined SPG online and earn points every stay in a Starwood property) Anyway, the S/D are also deluxe and very nice but much less $$$. We enjoy being in the Epcot/MGM area and then move to the MK area after. This has worked out great for us for the past several trips. We are still deluxe fans, and get that deluxe vacation, but for much less cost!!

Happy planning!

We did at 15 night stay at the GF just this past July. Next July in-laws are coming with us for a week (they would never pay for deluxe!) so we're doing one week at a mod (CBR) 5 nights at Poly and 4 nights at HRH. I would do the mod first and then stay deluxe the second week. THat way you'll truly appreciate the amenities of the deluxe, but I'm sure you'll still have a great time at the mod.

Same here. Do moderate first and then Poly last. Or if I can swing it, I would probably do any Epcot deluxe resorts and Poly last.

Two weeks! You are SO lucky! I would definitely split my stay. With that long of a trip, I think it would be more fun to have the variety of checking out two different resorts. The only caveat on this is to check if your trip spans multiple Disney seasons and see if this impacts your decision.

What I already did. I joined DVC. :flower:

I would never stay for 2 weeks in a hotel room, even at WDW.

I'd definitely rent points. Probably be cheaper anyway.

I am splitting between Poly for four days and Coronado Springs (mod) for four days. It will save us money and I am excited to try something new.

Get AP - get good rate - split stay with moderate such as PO. Have done this twice - 4 days PO and 11 days WL - another time one week WL and one week BC - all with good ap rates tho and before the new system came in!

This is what I would do too.
