Hello,

I am staying at a Deluxe hotel with DH and we have two friends going with us that are staying at a moderate hotel. If our accounts are linked are they able to experience the extra magic hours at night for Deluxe resorts with us? I know I have read that non hotel Guests are able to join their hotel Guest friends/family to the morning ones, but I wasn't sure about the Deluxe resort extra magic hours and how that one works.

Any insight? I am not trying to sit on hold for hours if I do not have to.

They will not be able to join you as their MagicBands or MDE will reflect that they are not staying at a deluxe. They won’t be kicked out of the park but they likely won’t be able to go on any rides.

I’ve never heard of non-resort guests being admitted when EMH was available in the morning. That doesn’t mean it’s not possible, just that I haven’t heard of it. When we went during morning EMH, they always scanned our MagicBands to confirm we were staying at a resort eligible for EMH.

Want the perks? Pay the price.
As you can tell by my signature we stay deluxe so not an issue for us but I don't think what you said is right.....meaning Disney is just squeezing every penny out of a resort guest to the point that Walt is rolling in his grave. There was a time when every resort guest enjoyed EMH now you have to pay for it....just not right...imo....

I had seen on a vlog about someone whose family was visiting and they weren't on their reservation so they were just going to wait outside until normal park operating hours began, when they went to Guest Relations in the morning to see if maybe they could get added GR told them they could enter as only one person needed the resort stay in the party on their magic band. Just like you, not saying it could work every time, but one example I saw so thought it doesn't hurt to ask.

As like Ice Cube said, not sure this comment is warranted. We are paying deluxe, not for this perk specifically, but because we like to try new resorts each stay. Our friends are not asking for it and they honestly did not even know about it until I mentioned I would see if maybe it would be possible. So they definitely do not want the perks as you are implying, but more so want to spend time with us if they can, but not the end of the world if we split for a few hours.

I would address this with guest relations. I watched a video where the vlogger joined his parents at HS and was granted early entry as part of the group. It would certainly be worth a try!

You understand exactly what I’m saying but are choosing to quibble over the precise wording.

I said nothing about the validity of only having deluxe hotels receiving EMH. Just that it’s currently limited to those willing to pay for deluxe. So they alone should be the ones to receive it.

We were there this week, staying at BC. For Early Entry, each of us had to scan our Magic Bands (even my children) to enter the parks at the early time. This was before we could go through the actual scanner to scan our tickets. So I am not sure anyone could join you since each person has to scan.

We were just at WDW for a Thanksgiving stay at AKL and only one guest of the 4 in our family had to scan to gain entry into the MK for Extended Evening Hours. That said, once we were in, each attraction seemed to do their own thing. Some had the four of us scan our magic bands for entry, some had only two, some had one, it was totally random. I figure if you're staying at a mod or value and just want to enter the park and hang with friends, have at it, but don't count on getting on any rides. I did see a number of people who weren't staying at a deluxe/DVC trying to get on and were politely turned away, but no one was escorted out of the park or shamed by any means.

And right before covid those extra magic hours were packed & pretty worthless most of the time. At least now, it feels like a perk again.

We had this same experience over Thanksgiving as well. LOVED the deluxe magic hours at MK, especially at such a busy time of year.
