Deluxe Family Oceanview in Dream. Layout question

When you look at the description for the Deluxe Family Oceanview staterooms on Dream it says 3-5 people, with 1 large or 2 small portholes.

Just to clarify. The lowest decks have the 2 small portholes, and the higher decks have the 1 large, right?

Is there anyway to tell if it has the Murphy bed other than trying to make a fake reservation for 5?

Only the Cat 9 Oceanview rooms on the Magic class (Magic & Wonder) on deck 1 have the two small portholes. All other Oceanview rooms (not Verandah rooms) have at least one large porthole (sometimes 2 large portholes). On all ships.

Only way for sure is to make a dummy booking for 5 and see what rooms are offered.

To complicate the issue: some oceanview family staterooms on the Dream/Fantasy have a murphy bed but only hold FOUR -- they lack the bunk that pulls down from the ceiling.

We need a murphy bed, so I took the info from the above list as well as some other online sources as well as doing some dummy bookings for five, and compiled a list of the staterooms in the part of the ship we are interested in and which ones have a murphy and which ones do not.

What category/part of the ship are you interested in ?

If you have only 4 in the ocean view room, I really liked 6666 on Dream. Has the Murphy, the giant porthole, good location IMO, and you will not forget your room number.

Not sure about Insides nearby though.

YMMV. I am someone who spends the entire cruise seasick but I still like this location

We like deck 9 forward, right up near the front of the ship. Category 8B. Rooms 9000-9008 and 9500-9508 [see list below for which ones have murphy bed].

There is a hallway that connects port to starboard near rooms 9006/9506; off that hallway are inside rooms. Also a hallway from 9016 to 9516 a little way down the hall, also with inside rooms off it. So if you look on the deck plan for deck 9 forward, you will see this cluster of 11 inside rooms grouped off two short cross-corridor hallways. We haven't stayed in any of the inside rooms so can't vouch for them, but they are there.

Near 9502/9500 is a guest laundry room.

It is easy to walk up to upper decks and down to lower decks using the forward stairs. The haul from deck two to deck nine by stairs is a little long, so we sometimes use the elevator coming up, or walk partway [eg through atrium/shops] and elevator partway [from deck 4 or 5]. Wee hours of the morning drink runs to the pool deck are a comfortable walk Rainforest Room is two floors up.

This is the room list for that area that I compiled for the Fantasy; should be the same or largely so for Dream; "D" is where I could only find confirmed info for the Dream. s5 = sleeps 5. It is possible some of the ones not marked s5 do sleep 5 [but I think I captured the ones that do], but many in this specific category/area do NOT sleep 5 because they have no ceiling pulldown bunk, but rather just have the queen bed, sofa bed, and murphy bed; or the upper but no murphy, where noted. MB = murphy bed. The info comes from elsewhere on the Disboards coupled with other info on the web -- e.g. stateroom reviews where the person explicitly described the beds the room did or did not have.
