Okay, I am looking at the different types of DP's that WDW offers, just wondering what people think about the deluxe DP? I am not sure it is worth the extra money???? What do you all think??

TIA....

We dont go until 3/08 but my family decided on the deluxe. We liked the idea of not having to worry about meals nor where we eat. We are 2 adults and 1 3-9 year old and one 2 yr old. With the Disney Visa discount that was applied to my ressie yesterday the deluxe plan seems even more of a great idea.

I think it's a very subjective thing. For many people the Deluxe Dining Plan is perfect, they like the relaxed pace and enjoy eating a few TS meals each day or really enjoy many Signature dining experiences.

For many other people the Deluxe Dining Plan is expensive, too much food and takes too much time away from the parks.

I think that every family has to individually look at the menus of the places that they want to eat. Add up what you would order if you're paying OOP and see how much you'd spend on food each day without the plan. Then add up what the dining plan will cost for your family each day.

One thing we did when looking at the plan was to really try to decide if we'd order an appetizer, entree, and dessert at each meal or if we were just doing that because we were 'entitled' to it and paid for it already. That alone changed whether the plan was a good value for us or not.

Have a magical vacation!

Thanks for the replies...I still think it may be too much food.

We are doing the Deluxe DDP in 2008. I know it's going to be way too much food for our family. Especially since, my DH had lap band a few years ago. The only reason we are doing it is b/c we can eat at a lot more TS's and places that take 2 credits. We are going into knowing it will be a lot of food, and that we don't have to eat it all. It's not like Disney has someone follow you around and you can't leave your table until you have finished everything you can purchase with the Deluxe DDP. I'm really looking forward to having all, if not 99% TS meals, instead of all CS meals.

I can't wait to try the deluxe DP. There are many reasons I think I will love it:

1)We get to try all the places we were never able to...especially those signature restaurants.
2)Appetizers are included. They aren't included in the regular DP.
3)Refillable mug included.
4)Lots of time to relax in between touring the parks.

Of course, there are also a few reasons I may not like it:
1) Lots of traveling to the resort restaurants
2)Time away from the parks
3)Too much food may be wasted since we will always be full.
4)MUST make dining arrangments way in advance.

There are ways I plan to get the most out of the deluxe plan. I plan to go in off season so the crowds will be light and therefore, we still will be able to do everything we want to in the parks. Also, we have a car so I'm planning on driving instead of waiting on Disney transportation.

I don't think the deluxe is for everyone, especially first timers, but I'm willing to try it and I will be sure to let everyone know how it was.
