deluxe disney dining plan......

Only been to 1900 once, one of the few places we won't return to, didn't enjoy the experience at all, almost an hour sat waiting to get in, average food and far too busy in there.
Most places this time we were seated within minutes, GF Cafe we arrived 15-20 mins early and seated straight away, just the odd one like Mama Melrose we had a long wait.
I don't like to spend too much time on meals but a few this time we had to slow the service, felt too rushed, Kona Cafe was the worst, server asking what desserts we wanted while still eating entree, then bringing the bill with the desserts.

the only bad wait was at 1900...
most of the others were 5 minutes....one time at sci fi was 15 minutes (but the other two times at sci fi were 1 minute each)..

as for rushed...definitely at `1900 - because we were seated so late, we didn't have much time to eat before closing...

very true!!!
you know how much time we killed at 1900 park fare one night?
our reservation was at 7:20.....which means we had to leave whatever we were doing a half hour before that to get there...
then we had to stand in line for 35 minutes just to check in....
and then we had to wait 90 minutes to be seated...
our reservation was at 7:20 and we were seated at 9:30!!!
and didn't get out of there until 10:30....an entire evening on a restaurant!!

wow that's a long time to wait :scared1:
the problem we have is now our balance is due wednesday and i think thomson will say we will have to pay for dining and park tix then!! but i dont get paid till 24th so we are thinking of seeing can we get the dining from front desk at pop when we get there!!! plus the fact thomson is voucher that u have to exchange when there so would rather get my tix tro disney store which is actually the ticket

You can not add dining at check in - it needs to be added at least 72 hours before.

Can you not change it and upgrade after you have been paid? Also if you have tickets through Thompson they will add them to you KTTW at check in :thumbsup2

From reading this I'm glad we've just booked to have the QSDP! There's me, DH, DS (8) and DD (5). I plan to take cereal for breakfast - great news that the value resorts will have fridges as we're staying at ASMovies. Sounds like we'll have plenty to eat for the rest of the time. To me eating will be an inconvenience that will stop the fun!! :rotfl:

QSDDP suits many but not others, we couldn't do it, we want a TS meal once a day. We don't eat breakfast, eat lunch at CS then a TS in the evening so regular DDP is perfect for us.
For us an evening meal is now part of the holiday. Not always been like that though we used to eat meals as quick and cheap as poss, our tastes change as we get older.

for us that would be heaven as we don't hit the parks that much now

This year 2 days in the theme parks that's all

Paul

it would have been good had the entire evening been IN the restaurant as opposed to sitting in the lobby waiting to be seated....

but i definitely like our TS meals - it's good to take a break during the day.....which is why most of our TS meals were for lunch...

i was told thomson issues vouchers that need to be exchanged? and another told me u have to go to the welcome meeting to get the voucher :confused3

anyways we have decided to go for the QSDP and just pay OOP for any other meal we have :)
