Deluxe Dinning Plan Question

DH and I will be dinning on the deluxe DP next week. I am looking over menus trying to figure out approximate tips. I know on the plan we get an appetizer, entrée, dessert and non alcoholic drink. My question stems from the soup/salad portion of the menus. If we order from this category on the menu do we pay out of pocket. For example, cheddar cheese soup at Le Cellier, is that oop?

Thank you!

By all authorities I've seen, a (non-dinner) salad or soup would be considered your appetizer under the plan.

Nothing, of course, would stop you from ordering both an appetizer and a soup, and just paying for one (the least expensive, naturally) OOP.

We were on the Dxl Dining plan for 7 days in Nov/Dec and ate at about 20 TS ADRs. We were able to get Cheddar soup at Le Cellier, flatbreads at Calf Grill, soup at 50s PT, Salad at Tutto, basically anything in soup/salad section as app. The CMs are very helpful about letting you know what is included an what is not. Also, by the end of the trip we would only order 3-4 apps and desserts to share with the table since we have 8 people and it was just too much food.

One suggestion especially at buffets, ask for your check ASAP since it does take quite a bit of time to process the dining plan receipts to sign. Often DH would take the kids outside since they were tired of waiting while I waited to sign the paperwork. At Tutto Italia, it took almost 20 mins, the CM warned us that it took a while when we sat down. Plus we had 4 different dining cards at our table so it took even longer.

Have a great trip.

I have a different question about the Deluxe plan but figure I'll put it here instead of starting a new thread...

On the Deluxe plan, am I correct in thinking that there is no differentiation between TS & CS credits? The Disney literature just says you get 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. So you can use those meals at either CS or TS, correct?

Deluxe meal credits can be used for either TS or CS meals. Signature restaurants require 2 meal credits per person.

Soups and salads are usually considered appetizers.

Just be aware that it is 3 credits per night not per day. For instance if you check in on Monday and checkout on Tuesday, you will receive 3 credits per person not six.

On the Deluxe Plan I would only plan to pay OOP for alcohol and since I don't enjoy that I would not budget for one OOP expense on the Deluxe plan. It is a very generous plan with lots of food, snacks and beverages built in the plan.

It should probably also be noted that even on the Deluxe plan, counter service meals don't include appetizers. Table service meals for lunch or dinner (not breakfast) do include appetizers.

I didn't know that and we've used the deluxe three times I think. Of course, we've not used a single deluxe credit at a CS restaurant.:rotfl:

Good to know. Thanks.
