Deluxe dining thread

waiting for anymore reviews on the dlxdp? I will be there in 10 days so when i get back i will give folks my opinion

we have 4 days on the deluxe and 2 days oop
our line up includes new for us beirgarten and boma breakfast everyday(tho we have had dinner there before), scifi will be new to us as will Liberty tree. we are also doing(things we have done) boma dinner, cellier Marrakesh , crystal palace and hollywod and vine

I'm excited about not waiting in lines also! I won't have to entertain my 4 yr old nephew while on line to meet Mickey Mouse. We're doing a few character meals, so he'll get to meet the characters without being rushed.

And NO CS LINES!!!!! YAY!!!!!

I can't wait to report on our experiences with deluxe dining when we come back on 1/21! I'm sure it'll be a great experience.

I hant even thought about this aspect and i am excited even more... We have several character meals planned and hopefully our DD4 will have a ball and get the autographs at the meals so we can concentrate on the rides and attactractions while in the parks... :) and she wants to do AUTOGRAPHS...

On the refillable mugs. What are the cost of refills and where are you allowed refills at? Parks, hotel, dtd?

Thanks so much disneyjunkie. I have booked us with the ddp and i'm just wondering if we could make the most of a dxdp. We are a party of six dh, me, dd (16) dd 8, dd 8 and our baby 2.5 at the time of the time. My kids LOVE to eat and i want them to get anything anytime and i'm also leaning towards the HDDR dinner show. I am just not math handy.LOL I"m planning on several character interactions.

I'm thinking:
AK - Donald breakfast
Mk- CP breakfast
Chef Mickeys
LTT-Dinner (is that a character dinner)?
HDDR on one night ( is the available everynight?) we are staying sun-thrus

I don't have all my plans made just staying 4 nights dec 14-18 We plan to arrive early on sunday and i'm not sure if the MVMCP will be that night but we may do that the first night. MK on monday AK on tuesday and MK again on wenesday night. Just looking for sugguestions and thoughts. My kids love the characters and i enjoy sitting down for a meal just for the resting aspect.LOL

[/We just got back from an amazing stay at the Poly using deluxe dining. The dxdp was terrific!!! We had room service twice (we prepaid for CRT so had an extra meal credit and skipped dinner bc of our flight time on the last day) and did several character meals. My nephew ate leisurely while meeting all of his favorite characters. We didn't have to wait on the extremely long times at all of the counter service places. The two snack credits a day per person seemed like a lot, but we just redeemed the last few for snacks for the flight home. It was well worth it and we're doing it again in August.

BTW, all of our servers were very familiar with the dining plan and very very helpful in explaining the deluxe dining plan.

Thanks Native NYer for that report about the DDDP!

How was the room service food at the Poly?

The CM at Captain Cooks told us that the mugs could be refilled at ANY resort. I was so surprised. I thought I would only be able to refill at the Poly. Maybe it's because all of the mugs look the same.

The room service food for both breakfast and dinner at the Poly was great! It was nice to have dinner in the room during the storm on Saturday night and breakfast before we checked out yesterday morning.

We ordered room service dinner twice and had a birthday cake brought to our room for my nephew. We had CM Hank both times and he was WONDERFUL!!!

When we ordered breakfast, the CM forgot to bring our orange juice (I didn't even notice until he checked everything he delivered), apologized and returned shortly with our orange juice, an extra chocolate milk, and a banana.

I can't say enough about room service at the Poly. But then again, I just fell in love with the whole resort!

Glad to hear that.

Just curious to know - do they print "Deluxe Dining Plan" on your Resort Key, so that the server knows which plan you are on?

Shouldn't each person have 33 credits and 22 snack credits??

If you're staying for 12 days, then you have credits for 11 nights. The deluxe plan includes 3 dining credits (they can be used for TS or CS) and 2 snack credits per person per night.

Good catch I missed the 12 day comment.

each adult on the ddp(assuming she meant 12 nights and not 12 days) would have 12 ts. 12 cs and 12 snacks(total 36 each) and the child would have 12 each

if on the deluxe each adult would have 36 ts/cs (total 108) and 72 snacks(total 216) and the child 36 ts and 72 snacks plus everyone would get a mug.

Glad to hear that.

The Resort Key does say "DLX" on it. But before I was brought the check, I let the server know I was using deluxe dining.

Thanks for the great review! We're planning on having room service breakfast at least twice (while we're there and on checkout day) and having it for dinner on New Year's Eve. We have a lagoon view room so we're just having a big 'ol New Years party so we can eat, see the fireworks and not have to drag DD9 to the MK out of a dead sleep to see them. :thumbsup2

I wish June would get here so I could make all my ADRs! LOL!

But it was nice to see all you guys thinking the same way! not complaing about to much food:rolleyes1[/QUOTE]

I am so thrilled to read a thread about dining and those who enjoy the dining plans. I am so tired of reading those posts which complain about "too much food", and I am so excited about our April trip and the deluxe dining plan, and I plan to enjoy each and every meal.

Cant agree with you all more... I hate seeing the complaints about two much food.... I cant wait to try the dining plan!!!!!!!!

I would like to say that it is very nice to see that people are enjoying the deluxe plan. After reading all of the threads downing the plan I was really thinking about downgrading the plan to the regular dining plan.
I know that the tips aren't included any longer but I just figured that we could do a character breakfast, try some of the signature restarants, maybe a dinner show or 2 (I would love to hear peoples recommendations on this one) as well as having ADRs on those 3 TS days just to get out of the sun.

I read on another thread a while back where a poster stated that she and her family did not do the dining plan because she was so "disgusted" with the dining plan changes (no tip, no appy, etc), and she had read and agreed with so many naysayers on the dining boards, she felt she would show the "powers that be" that she was protesting the changes. Well, when she returned home she had big regrets, because paying OOP for all meals and not eating at many places where she had previously dined on DDP (thus, the family dining experience was not the same as before), she found she spent more money for less. Her family was disappointed. When I read her post I was sad for her.

For me and my family April can't come fast enough. We are going to dine like royalty and enjoy every bite!!!
