Deluxe dining thread

Reading this thread has me so excited! :woohoo: :yay: :jumping1: We are doing the Deluxe DDP in September with the discounted dining bounceback promo.

Yay!:cheer2:

I've planned to do many 2TS spots like Narcoosee's, Yachtsman, Cali Grill and Brown Derby. This will really be perfect since we go to WDW to eat... :lmao:

I actually overheard my DH tell someone, "she goes there to eat."

I couldn't believe it...is that OK???:rotfl:

Uhhh...PP stated she used 9 snack credits for pastries in France.

That was us. It was a little walk through pasterie shop to the left of the back of the fountains and we were allowed anything under $4. (pick the cream puffs!! to die for!!) This was 1/03/08 and we were running out of time to use up all of our snacks so we had them box the pastries up and had them in the A.M. with coffee...ummmmm gooood!!! Also there is just the one mug. The same Year of A Million Dreams mug as last year they just removed the 2007 from it, but there is only one size. When you first get there you take your room key to the quick serve restraunt and somehow it comes off of your room key. Easy and quick!!

BOULANGERIE!!!! I read posts that say they used credits there for pastries ( and I did once), but it is reported, by a very reliable source, that this isn't allowed. You got so lucky!

well, i signed up, first 4 days of my trip deluxe and the last 2 days reg ddp. I may even drop that and pay out of pocket as I figure the first day I will have extra credits from the deluxe to use up

so I get buffet breakfast everyday at Boma's, then a variety of dinners each night. A few counter services, I should be good and fat by the time I get back!!

They do charge the 18% for parties over 6, not at the castle or the dinner shows though.

Hello, how did it work for 18% party over 6? We have 4 adults, 1 child and a baby (6-month-old). Five of us (except the infant) will be on Deluxe Dining Plan. Not sure if they will consider us as party of 6 :)

Does it mean 18% gratuity is automatically added to your bill? I am confused because I saw someone saying you will receive a bill and allow you to check 18% or 20% gratuity....

Furthermore, is it possible to keep things simple by paying gratuity in Cash?

My understanding, from posts on this board, everyone counts as a guest.....even an infant.

We plan on paying all tips in Cash.... we are a party of only 3 however... and we tip on the service we recieve... :) We are excited to use the Dulx DDP

Subscribing. We're doing the Deluxe DDP in December so I'm looking forward to reading everyone's experiences with it.

We are doing the DlxDDP in September. I can't wait to read how it goes for others!!

I was so excited to find this thread!:yay:

We are going back in August and getting the DDDP and couldnt be happier~
I am with you guys standing in CS lines looking for tables and then getting dry, not so good burgers not my idea of fun:rotfl:

It works perfectly for us we are doing mostly Character Breakfast then a later lunch or dinner. :woohoo:

I crunched our nubers and we come out ahead, even with the tip not included, so it was a no brainer;)

But it was nice to see all you guys thinking the same way! not complaing about to much food:rolleyes1

I hear ya! I'd probably fall over if I ever heard the words "too much food" come out of my 2 teenage boys' mouthes! :lmao: :rotfl:

We're doing DDP also! Can't wait!

You sound like me when I found this thread. :thumbsup2

This is just me, but as a single parent with a young child CS meals just did not work unless it was at Captain Cooks at the Polynesian. Most likely than not we prefer not to do CS. All those lines---ugh! Our only exceptions are Captain Cooks, Casey's Corner (great hot dogs!) and that fish & chips stand in the UK pavillion at EPCOT.

Our trip isn't until December (the DDDP one anyway) but I've already outlined our meals. Mainly breakfast buffets and then 2TS meals or room service and a 1TS evening meal.

I, too, am tickled pink that they are offering the Deluxe plan! Every survey I have taken in the parks in the past few years I have mentioned that I wanted it back (a la the silver and gold plans of the 90's).

For us, part of the WDW experience is the great TS food! I hate the CS places- yes they are quicker and the food isn't horrible, but I much rather go to Tony's for a panini than Pinocchio's. I much rather go to the Sci Fi for lunch than any of the CS locations at MGM. Plus, it allows us to go back to several of the signature restaurants that we haven't dined in for years (Narcoosees, CRT, Yachtsman etc.) Lastly, DS4.5 loves to collect autographs. We can now collect our fill at a daily character breakfast and not have to spend so much time in the parks waiting in those lines to do it.

It really is a win for our family!

We're also doing the DDP in April. We'd used the Silver plan years ago & loved it. We usually do a minimum of 2 TS a day & with a DS(13) - it's so much easier to be paid in advance for the food & snacks. Hope everyone has a great trip & lots of fun with the DDP!

I am excited too!!!:yay: :yay:

We are doing the Deluxe DDP on our March 28-April 6th trip. We are DVC members, so we like to take our time and enjoy the resurants since we go twice a year, we don't care if we miss seeing some of the parks cause we will just catch it next time. Also my DF and Step DM are going with us for the first time this trip. They haven't been to WDW since prior to Epcot opening :scared1:

We are doing several 2TS and lost of character breakfast's so they can see the characters without waiting in the horrific lines!! :goodvibes

I'm excited about not waiting in lines also! I won't have to entertain my 4 yr old nephew while on line to meet Mickey Mouse. We're doing a few character meals, so he'll get to meet the characters without being rushed.

And NO CS LINES!!!!! YAY!!!!!

I can't wait to report on our experiences with deluxe dining when we come back on 1/21! I'm sure it'll be a great experience.

We're doing the DXDDP for our trip in 21 days (Feb 2-9). We'll be at the CR. Anyone here going to be at the CR before 2/2 on the Deluxe? Just wondering how they are handling the no refillable mugs available since the Food and Fun Center is closed.

Our plans
2/2: Plaza Restaurant for lunch after arrival; dinner at Beaches and Cream
2/3: B'fast at CRT; dinner at Chef Mickey
2/4: Hollywood and Vine Playhouse Disney lunch; Brown Derby dinner
2/5: Donald's B'fast; Crystal Palace dinner before the P&PP
2/6: Concourse Steak House lunch; HDDR for dinner
2/7: Garden Grill lunch; PSB dinner
2/8: 50's PT lunch; 1900 Park Fare dinner
2/9: 'Ohana b'fast

That still leaves me with 3 credits to use. Any ideas?
