I know this has probably been asked many times (probably even today)...

If we have the Deluxe Dining Plan (three TS per person...) can you use the TS credit at a QS restaurant? I know it seems like a waste of a credit...but sometimes, a QS is just what you need.

Yes you can but like you said, it's generally not the best use of a credit.

Yeah it is a waste of a credit, but if you're staying at someplace like AoA, grabbing breakfast in the morning is simpler.

On the Deluxe Dining Plan you receive three dining credits per night that can be used at TS or QS. At a QS just let the CM know you are on the DxDDP. :)

If you were to eat at a QS I would pay out of pocket for it then use that TS credit you were going to use and eat at a signature restaurant or show dinner (hoop dee do review maybe or brown derby).

I know that in our case, with the DxDP, paying OPP makes even less sense than using a credit for a CS meal. It would leave us with an extra credit because we do a signature meal every day.

We do the DxDP, and there are days where we pay OOP for a CS meal for lunch. We do lots of character breakfasts, not only because we love breakfast buffets, but because it gets us in the parks earlier and we meet a ton of characters. Then we use our 'additional' dining credits to allow for some signature meals. Works great for us - so rather than using a dining credit on Casey's, we pay OOP for that and then eat at a signature.

Another option is that since you will get two snack credits per person/per day, you can use those for breakfast items. I've been able to get a side of sausage or bacon (which costs about $2-2.50) for a snack credit.

Just curious. Why do you suggest to let the CM know you're on the DxDDP? I thought you get the same thing when redeeming a QS regardless of which plan you are on?

We found that some CMs tried to input it as redeeming a QS credit and would then tell us we had no QS credits left. It was easier to say we had the DxDDP so they used the correct key. This was in 2012 so it might not be necessary anymore.

Am I reading Mom2Maggie's post correctly? With Deluxe Dining I can pay out of pocket for breakfast or lunch and use the breakfast/lunch credit later at a restaurant requiring 2 entitlements, such as Cinderella's castle? I've wondered about this for sometime.

With the DxDDP you get 3 dining credits per night per person. All the credits are given to you when you check into your resort and you can use them in whatever order and for any meal you wish at any TS or CS listed on the dining plan brochure. You can use them for a 2 credit signature restaurant or dinner show (Hoop De Doo, luau, or Mickey's Backyard Barbecue). You could do a 2 credit breakfast at CRT, a 2 credit lunch at Le Cellier and then a 2 credit dinner on the same day if you wish. :)

Even on the regular dining plan (1 TS, 1CS, 1 snack per night) you can use 2 TS credits for a sig or dinner show.

We found that the DxDDP was so much food that 2 meals a day was more than enough for us. We usually used 1 credit for either breakfast or lunch and a 2 credit signature dinner. We did not pay OOP for any of our meals.
