Hi,

If my family of four who are going to be on the deluxe dining plan are too stuffed at a table service meal to order one or two of our desserts (and don’t want to take it to go), can we tell them we don’t want it? I know I can gift it to someone else, etc but just wanted to know if they will still force us to get it or it will be not on the bill if we decide against it. Thanks!

Of course you can decline it, and, correct, it will not be added to the bill.

You are on the deluxe dining plan, so for each TS you get a appetizer, entrée, dessert and beverage. This uses either 1 TS or 2 TS depending on where you are eating. The different entitlements are not tracked separately, but just as TS. If you do not use the dessert entitlement for a specific meal then you lose it. Of course you could choose to get something to go, but I have found that it almost never gets eaten since you also have the snack credits to use. I usually try and only do 2 meals a day when on deluxe. I do either a TS breakfast or early lunch and then a signature at dinner. I find that this spaces it out a little bit better and makes it so that I can usually enjoy all of the entitlements per TS.

We were just on the deluxe plan last week. It was our first time using the plan and we really enjoyed it. I am not a big dessert person. So if the place did not have a dessert I liked, I would often skip it or get a fruit cup. You will still use a full credit if you decide not to eat the dessert.

I hope you enjoy the deluxe plan.!

We've done the DxDP on our last couple of trips and have really loved it. I rarely--almost never--eat dessert, and we still come out way ahead on the DxDP. You'd also have to pay tip on that dessert so I definitely don't order unless I really want it.
