Deluxe Dining Plan and Appetizers

Several people have mentioned appetizers when talking about meals purchased with the Dx dining plan. In this case, do TS meals come with appetizers, too? I know they are not included with the CS meals.

The DxDDP is three meal credits per night of stay (which may be used for either CS or TS meals) and two snack credits per night of stay. If used for TS, meals include an appetizer, entree, dessert, and nonalcoholic beverage. If used for CS it includes an entree/combo meal, nonalcoholic beverage, and dessert. If used for breakfast, no appetizer or dessert is included though.

one other caveat: if you purchase the DxDDP for a child (3-9y/o), they do not get an extra appetizer, as kids TS meals usually include an appetizer anyway (carrot sticks, soup, small salad, or grapes) whether they are on the basic DDP or DxDDP. We did not realize this when we took our GS down there last Feb on the DxDDP. We just assumed that since he was on the DxDDP that he'd be able to order an appetizer. Instead he got exactly what a kid on the basic DDP would have gotten at the TS restaurants.

TS meals include appetizers for lunch and dinner (not breakfast) on the deluxe dining plan.

Thanks for the helpful information! I knew you guys would know! That's a LOT of food! I don't remember appetizers coming with TS meals on the DDP, right? Is this just a "perk" of the deluxe plan?

Until 2008 there was only one dining plan (same format as today's basic or regular dining plan, 1 TS, 1 CS, 1 snack per night) and it included everything - even appetizers and tips. In 2008 they removed the appetizer from the regular plan and started the deluxe plan, which cost more, but gave you more credits and included appetizers. Tips are no longer included on any dining plan.
