As a family, the deluxe is the best of both world because we do signature and character meals however is it worth it for adult only?

Out of the blue my sister and I decided to visit Disney in 3 weeks and are debating paying out of pocket or taking the deluxe plan.

Does the deluxe plan worked for you as adults only or not so much?

With only three weeks to go, I would first go online and see if you can get the ADRs you want before adding the plan.

If those ADRs are available, you need to ask yourself some questions. Do you both want your own app and dessert at a meal? Would you be just as happy sharing? Do you want three TS meals a day or at least two with one being a signature every day?

I think it can work for adults only, and you've obviously used it before, so does it fit the vacation the two of you want to have?

Thanks for the input. Yes all the signature meals we are looking for are still available. I've been over thinking this and frankly don't know what to do. Now I'm debating buying an annual pass, as I'm going again with my daughters in August and simply get TIw but I've never used it before and need to read a bit more about it. Plus we have a free dining for August that I need to consider in all of this. Too much to think about and very little time. I like to plan ahead and feel like I need to rush LOL Should planning a trip be easy

I would never use it, but I am not going to order all the food it entitles you to.

The best way to use the deluxe plan is: use as many credits as possible for table service (which would mean as few as possible for counter service) and stick to having a late breakfast or early lunch at a table service followed by a 2 credit signature dinner. If you're not willing to do this, scheduling 3 TS meals a day is the best value, but it takes a lot of your time sitting in restaurants. It will all depend on what you want from your dining.

There are some guests who love to use the plans without any regard to what kind of monetary value they might get from them, because they consider them easy and convenient and they enjoy the prepayment aspect. You will need to decide if that has value to you as well. It has little to no value to me, personally.

Are you going 2x in August? With free dining, you have to purchase a 2-day ticket. If you get an AP now, you'll still have to buy that ticket. You can keep it and use it a later date, but you need to consider that upfront cost. If you do get the AP and the TiW, the card could be used for any OOP expense you have over your free dining.

DH & I eat 2 TS meals a day one of which is a signature. Still, we would never purchase a dining plan. Swan/Dolphin restaurants are excluded. In our opinion, those are the best restaurants on property (excluding V&A). However, S/D restaurants do accept TIW. That may be something you want to consider. This could be a good opportunity for you to try their restaurants.

I would only do DxDP if you absolutely want to indulge yourself and have a massive foodie adventure.

I have been on DxDP for my last 3 trips and will be on again in June. Here's why: I go with adults, we eat at about 4 signature restaurants, every meal is a sit-down meal, no QS, and we are happy to order 3 courses each.

It's a glutton-fest AND ONLY WORTH IT if you would have ordered all of this regardless.

I do not think the DDP saves me any money. I even used the spreadsheet thingy and I think it saved me like $90 at the end of the day. HOWEVER, I use the DxDP for this reason:

1. I pre-pay for my meals. Using the KTTW (or magic bands) and never use my debit card (or have to look at my accounts) is worth it to me. It's "pre-budgeted" which is great for me. I even get a giftcard to pay for tips (which I estimate in advance and use the leftover on the card to pay for souvenirs).

2. I have an excuse to order 3 courses when in the normal world, I would never because of $$ and hunger level. With DxDP, it increases my pleasure on my trip b/c I can order 3 courses and not feel guilty because I already paid for it!

3. Sampling all the different dishes with my (all adult) family and friends is a fabulous experience that only occurs because we are maximizing DxDP.

I love love love DxDP but it saves me little money, so there you go!

I just started doing the Disney Math last night. Think we are going to try Deluxe for Sept 2015, for much of the same reasons. I really think it will work out great for us. I am going to go check on some of your TR. Which one should I start with to get the most out of how you did deluxe? Thanks

the last time we did we have the deluxe plan and I think it was really worth it, we made the best out of it and eat at a lot of signature places and tried a lot of new places as well. We did not always go for the most expensive items on the menu but some times it just work out that what I want was the most expensive lol

but one thing about getting 3 seat down meals a day does take a lot time out of your day if you really want to sit down and enjoy your mean. So at least one meal per day we just got a quick service and saved the nice meals for dinner time

however next time we go back we are not going to get the deluxe plan probably one of the other smaller ones instead

My sister & I are going for 3 days in late Aug & using the DxDDP. It will work out perfectly for us for all the reasons noted above. We'll be having dinner at FF, Jiko, & Citrico's. For bkfst we'll either order room service or eat at one of the resorts. Our grandchildren will enjoy all the goodies we bring back using our snack credits.
Enjoy your trip!
