Has anyone been able to get a deluxe concierage with the ap or any other discount? If so, can you tell me how much and for what time period. thanks

We have used our AP discount to stay at Poly concierge. We stayed in June and sorry, I can't remember how much the discount was. Suffice it to say that it was enough to allow us to stay concierge!!

Thanks, I am really looking for 2005 discounts on deluxe concierage. Sorry, I should have mentioned that. I have a feeling the discounts for concierage will not be as good as previously given but I can hope.

I know you're looking for 2005, but in the past we have gotten AP rates on Deluxe Concierge at the BWI (12/03 and 7/04). My only advice is to be quick about it - since there aren't many deluxe rooms to begin with, they go fast at the AP rate (which is why I book with DU now). In December 2003, our AP rate was almost 40% off, but July 2004 was around 18% (I think). Good luck!

Today I booked the Wilderness Lodge concierge, and was able to get an AAA discount of $40.00 off per night for the last weekend in April 2005. Every little bit helps :) Am still hoping for an even better discount to come along,, but if it doesn't, I will just be happy with what I got :)

Terris, I noticed you said you were going the end of April. That is when my kids are off school too. But I am really disappointed that we would miss the 50th celebration by a week. also, the new disney arrangement with the airlines sounds unbelieveable-being able to get a borading pass right in your hotel lobby is sooo convenient. That too doesn't start until May5th. But if I wait until the summer, then it might be way too hot. What are your feelings and anyone else's on this?

I don't mind missing the initial magic express option, I have a feeling there will be bugs to work out anyway. I have a feeling next summer it will be a smooth operation, but in the infancy, I am a little leary. Plus, I don't like the idea of having to make lots of stops at other resorts before finally getting to my destination. Unless each resort has a dedicated bus system, I will probably always still just arrange a towncar for airport pick up and return.

As far as the boarding pass goes, we always check in curbside with Continental, and it's pretty painless, no complaints there :)

The kids really like Universal, and want to go there at some point in the summer, so we are fine with missing the 50th celebration. We went during WDW's 25th celebration, and I will never be able to forget the terrible 'cake' they turned the castle into,,lol. Hopefully they won't do anything like that this time. :earseek:

I am hoping it won't be too hot at the end of April. We have done June before, and have had a mixture of coolish and rainy, to very hot days, but in early June, have not expirenced crowds that were too scarey, have gone in July, always hot, without exception, and crowded with lots of tour groups. Have done the beginning of August a few times,, and always hot, but also always the afternoon rainstorm, which cools things off. We aren't morning people, so have never done the early morning rush to the parks,, so when we go in the afternoon, it seems that we are passing alot of people who are leaving to go back to their rooms to cool off. That has always worked for us. :) I am ashamed to say, that on the last trip, (an August trip), we never made it into any of the parks, before 3:00 in the afternoon,,lol. What can I say,, mine are teenagers, who would rather hang out at Disneyquest til late at night, and sleep in the next mornings. So, we don't do commando trips anymore. We know what we want to see, and take our time seeing it.

We also stopped doing PS for meals, mainly because we dont' like to plan our days around the meals. Way too stressful. For me at least,,lol. If I arrange something special, I get stressed to get there. So the girls have forbid me from ever making another PS,,lol.

Just my hubby and I have gone in Dec, and at the end of January, and that is my favourite time to go. No crowds, not hot, and even with shorter park hours, it's still plenty of time to do what you want, and have a relaxing early evening back at the resort, or DTD. :)

At the end of April, I will be curious to see how the crowds will be. I know the weekend will be busy, but am hoping for light crowds on that Friday. This trip is only a little one because of my daughter's 18th birthday, which is April 27, and I can't take the girls out of school for more than two days anyway. The last trip to Disney, they had said they felt they had outgrown Disney, so color me surprised when this is what she wanted to do for her milestone 18th celebration. Well, the real reason she wants to go is to see 'Nightwish', a Finnish goth metal band that is playing at the House of Blues on the 29th :rockband:.

For the winter value season I was quoted an AP rate of $385 a night inc tax for AKL Concierge. Since this is a value season quote expect Peak, Regular and Holiday seasons to be higher.

Thanks everyone for the information and your responses. I am thinking now that even if I don't get a great discount at the end of April and I will miss the celebration at Disney, it is worth hopefully beating the heat from July and the rain in August, to go when the weather is better. My mom is probably going with us and she is turning 80 in July. Lengthly walking even when its not hot, gets her really tired. I have to agree that I would also still call Tiffany and get a car service rather than do Meers. Although not having to worry about waiting and finding my luggage sounds great-but then again, I would be the person worrying that my luggage was forgotten.
