deluxe AP question

hey all,

so my partner and I have decided to buy 1 x deluxe AP to take advantage of the savings for rooms/food/merchandise etc, and 1 x regular ticket for admission.

being from Australia, we just want to clarify a few things:

can you buy a deluxe AP online, and if so, when is it considered active? from the date you order/pay online, or the date you first redeem it at the gate for admission?

also, do you have to have your photo taken for the AP?

also, if it's my AP, do i only get the discount if i use my credit card, rather than my husband's credit card etc?

I was told by my TA here in australia that you need to be a usa resident to qualify for the APs, however i was under the impression that you only had to be a resident for the Southern California Annual Pass, not for the Deluxe Annual Passport...

any info you have on this would be hugely appreciated, as the disneyland site is pretty vague...

thanks !!!

Good Idea.

Yes after you get your AP they will direct you to see a PhotoPass Photographer in either park next time you enter. They will take your picture and it will be linked to the pass, showing up on monitors when you make purchases and enter the park.

Correct only the holder gets the discount so the AP holder needs to pay.

They were wrong or confused, you are correct, you can get the delux, premium or premiers.

1. How long are you planning to be there?
2. Are you going to be staying on site or off?
3. Will you want to drive your car to the park?

If you do end up wanting to drive your car to the park, it might be worth it to go to the premium. Deluxe is $379; premium is $499. Parking is included in the premium and is $99 extra for deluxe (so $478 vs. $499 if you take parking into account)

Deluxe gives you 10% off food and merchandise - although that is supposedly going to end 5/31/12. Premium gives you 15% off food and 20% off merchandise.

Anyone can get a deluxe or premium annual pass. Depending on when you go, you might consider buying it ahead of time (by early June) as in early June 2011 is when DL upped prices for APs.

we'll be there for 10 days in december and then again for 14 days in september next year.

we won't be parking, but are staying onsite at DLH. i know the rates aren't yet advertised, but we're happy with the value of the deluxe rather than premium or premier APs at this stage as it's just the 2 of us. we can justify the increase in price from regular ticket to deluxe AP due to the room discount/merchandise/food etc, but we won't be spending enough to justify the increase to the premium AP.
