I would really like 2 trips to DL this year, 1 in Feb and one in Aug/Sep when the Carsland is finished. I was leaning on purchasing 3 deluxe AP's instead of buying tickets. I live in northern Ca and wanted to go the route with monthly payments. I believe its $80 a person then $25 a month afterwards. So how do I do this? Do I purchase this online before the Feb trip or is it done at the park? Also wanted to check into the PPH for the Feb trip.... curently they have a Winter promo going on but was planning on a Fri-Mon trip so that promo only covers Sun night. Would the AP give me additional savings? Or is it better to stick with the winter promo? Was interested at the first week in Feb.
Also, how would I get the AP discount for the hotel if I wait until we go to the parks to do get the AP's? We wanted to fly in Fri morning, check into the hotel, drop off bags then go to the parks. Any suggestions to relieve some stress hehe?

You have it right, it's $80 down and $25 a month, but just know that when you purchase it, they take out the $80 and the first months $25 all at one time. It does not tell you that when you purchase online. You can go on to the ticket section of the website and purchase them on there and eletronically sign the contract. You take the voucher (which is just a park ticket) to the ticket counter and they will process your annual pass. You can also enter the park and do it later, but you must do it that first day. You can also do the entire purchase and payment contract at the ticket counter, but it would take a little longer, but not much.

They will give you the AP hotel discount in advance as long as you have purchased it, even if it's not activated. It just has to be activated when while you're there to ensure the rate, that is my understanding anyway. You can probably do the promo for the one night if it's better than the AP discount and then do the AP for the remaining days. Hope this helps!

wow I didn't know about the plus $25 too!!! Good to know. You would think they would have just added it to the main price. Always a catch somewhere... hehe. But thank you so much... you gave me great advice!

Agreed! I didn't mind paying it, but it would have made more sense if they had just said an even $100 down to include first months payment. I know they are trying to test the card you use monthly, since you can use different methods for the down and subsequent monthly payments, but still. When I got mine it was an extra $50 out (for two APs) that I wasn't expecting so I was surprised, especially since there was ZERO mention that the first month would come out on top of the down.

And you're welcome :)

It's because the down payment and monthly payments are totally separate transactions. You can use another form of payment even actual tickets fir the down payment. Also it ensures them not getting scammed by someone coming in, making a small downpayment and giving them a bad cc for the monthly payments. If it's charged and declined in the first few days they can void the pass. If they wait a month it'd be 11 monthly payments and they could use the AP an entire month before Disney realized they've been scammed.

That's a good point and I assumed that was why, but I do think it's still strange/annoying that they don't mention that to purchasers. Even just a note with an asterik or something saying that first months payment will be charged in separate transaction the same day. I bought 4 AP's and it was $100 extra while purchasing. I ordered two and noticed that, so I was expecting it with the second set of AP's I purchased, but still...

I know it used to be online when it was just so cal residents. But I haven't checked since it was opened up to all CA. If you buy them in person it should be mentioned by the CM.

And when you plan your summer trip, remember that the first 3 Saturdays of August are block out dates for a Deluxe AP. -- Suzanne
