Delux vs Value

I already got a code for 77$ a night at a value resort. I stayed in the GF in 97 and the Poly in 2000. I love the delux resorts so far(the food, rooms, location etc.) Are the value resorts worth it at the much lower price or are the Delux MUCH better?

I think the value resorts are just fine. At least for me, I spend very little time in the room anyway, so the size doesn't matter. I also spend more time at the parks, so I never end up using resort amenities anyway. As for dining, I have a 3 year old, so a food court works out much better for us than a nicer sit-down restaurant. The transportation on the buses was good as well. We stayed at All Star Sports and found the buses very efficient. I hope that helps.

We stayed at the ASMo after staying at OKW and WL. By comparison, you see the difference in quality of room size and appointments. However the Disney magic is there and its hard to be unsatisfied. The kids loved staying in the Toy Story wing and hanging out in Andy's room. If anything the macho provider in my husband felt a bit lacking, but overall we had a great time and I'd stay at any of Disney value's over any other non-disney resort again.

To me, a room is a room as far as WDW resorts go. I require a clean, quiet place to recover after a day of playing 'Park Commando', and being connected to the WDW transportation system is worth the difference between Disney prices and Motel 6. We do enjoy staying at Swan and Dolphin and plan on returning there next March, but only at the Teacher's Rate and only because of the location. Being a short walk from MGM, Epcot and the Boardwalk is why I pay the diffrence between S/D and AllStars.

I know how you feel since I had the same dilemma on our last trip. We have stayed at deluxes and a moderate (POR) in the past but our last trip wasn't planned too far ahead so less time to save and we invited my dh's twin brother to go with us and I didn't want to send him into shock at the deluxe prices so we got 2 adjoining rooms at the All Star Sports. I was concerned that we'd feel a bit let down after staying at the other resorts. Yes, there is a difference in amenities but our family had a blast, the kids never complained about no slide in the pool and still enjoyed it. We found the bus service to be fine, the rooms were clean, it wasn't noisy like I expected and it turned out we were happy to have saved the $$ to spend on other things while we were there. I think it all depends on your tastes and needs. When our children were smaller we spent a lot more time at the resort in our room and at the pool so staying at a moderate or deluxe was better for us. Now they are at the age where we spend a lot more time in the parks and aren't at the resort really except to shower and sleep so a value works for us. Now if I got an awesome rate at a deluxe or win the lottery ;) I would stay at a deluxe! HTH.
