Does anybody have any experience flying with Delta airlines?

We usually fly JetBlue from Syracuse, but since we're getting married the Saturday it makes more sense to pay a little extra to fly from Montreal, but I am getting anxious about the airline...

Hi
I have frequently flown Delta out of Toronto,,never a problem with leaving Toronto (YYZ) but usually it's a connecting flight out of the states to my final destination. ei CarlotteNC New York Dallas etc. Now those flights have been delayed at times --I've always recieved a voucher or even a Hotel room . Last March my connecting flight times wouldn't meet.,,meal voucher --shuttle to hotel and everything paid for by Delta.
Hope this helps
Hugs Mel

We are flying to Disney from Montreal using Delta in September, can't comment first hand on it yet, but on another Disney forum I got positive opinions. The main points are less space than JetBlue, and personal TVs not available on most aircrafts. Also flying from Montreal, first leg is on small Regional Jets (very small CRJ100 to JFK, and CRJ700 to ATL), a bit noisier, and with cramped seating on the window seat because of plane curvature.

For us, price was the same with Delta from Montreal, and JetBlue/Delta/Northwest from Burlington, so it was a no brainer, since we are 15 minutes from the airport! You could also check Northwest, they have some good prices also. Air Canada currently has a sale YUL-MCO, but it's only running through the end of September. If you gamble and wait a few weeks for October sales, you could get a direct flight for 350$, since they always go on sale for 119-130$ a leg 30-60 days beforehand, if enough space left. (However I'm not sure I'd gamble on my honeymoon trip...)

we have flown delta..a few years ago though..had no problems :-)

I flew with Delta about a month ago, and they made my life a living hell in the span of about 4 hours.

They lost my luggage, were completely disorganized about it, and were very rude to me the next day when I called to complain about it still not being there.

Sorry for the bad news though! :confused3

We flew from Buffalo to Vegas via Atlanta (on the way down) and Cinncinati on the way back. Everything went like clockwork and it was a breeze.
the only fault I could find with Delta is the fact that they have a reputation of changing flight times and combining flights fairly regularly (we had 4 changes to our flights in the weeks leading up)

I hope I don't jinx it for my November trip....but...I have never had a problem with Delta and we have used them extensively. One thing I do notice though and this is something everyone should watch for...they tend to change the flights. I booked our flights in late May and since then, there have been 3 changes to our itinerary. So far, every change has been for the better. When it happens, I just simply call their toll-free number and ask for reassignments of seating (as the seating will be lost for that segment that just changed). So I have learned over the years to keep a close eye on-line. Other than that, they get two thumbs up for me. But like I said in the beginning of this reply, I hope I didn't jinx myself!!!

We've flown with Delta a lot but out of Buffalo. Never a problem other than changing our flight times. It seems the further out you book, the more likely a change. Last year we had to change my DH's flight due to a death in the family. Delta worked with me to split our ticket, re-routing him first to BC and then down to Ft Lauderdale where we were to catch a cruise ship. I can't say enough about the customer rep we dealth with.

I am booked with Delta for my October trip, how do I find out if the flight times have been changed? Do they email or write you?

Thanks

I went to the Delta website and keyed in my confirmation number. That was how I found out about the changes.

I booked through Cheaptickets, and they have sent me 2 emails in the past week to warn me that my Delta flights have been changed... But I can't see the changes! The time and flight numbers are the same... Oh well!

Yes, as somebody already mentioned, go to Delta's website and under the heading of Itineraries (I think), type in your name that appears on your ticket and the confirmation number and it will let you know if anything has changed. If it has, simply call Delta's toll free number to get assigned seating again.

FYI - check your flights with Delta...Mine just got changed, and am I ever happy I checked, because if I hadn't, I would have been stranded in Salt Lake City in my lay-over. Apparently, they changed my flight home and I would have been arriving at the layover airport AFTER my connecting flight departed....The people I talked to at Delta were great in resolving the matter, but they were confused as to why that happened in the first place.
