Due to fly on Friday with Delta Airlines via Atlanta. Any thoughts and useful tips would be much appreciated - it doesn't look like they individual seat back TV's - is this correct?

I flew MAN - ATL - TPA last year with Delta.

The aircraft was (I think) an MD11 - 3 engined. Trying to remember the seat configuration... 2-4-2? I remember liking it as being just two of us we didn't have to sit beside anyone - if you see what I mean.

No seat back tvs and the entertainment was poor compared to Virgin. I felt there was slightly more leg room than Virgin and the seats were marginally more comfortable. Food was better than Virgin (just!)

Atlanta is a big airport and it takes time to get from one terminal to the other. We were supposed to have a 2.5 hour transfer, but the first flight was a bit late and immigration was slow. We rechecked our baggage and hurried over to the gate with minutes to spare.

However, this was the first time I had experienced slow immigration at Atlanta (previous 5 times we had sailed through with very little queuing).

Many thanks for your quick reply - the power of these boards never ceases to amaze. Did you have to pick up your luggage again at Atlanta ane "race across the airport" with it or was it checked straight thorugh to your destination?

We have done LHR ATL MCO.
We did have seat back TVs for the transatlantic leg.
I thought the food was ok nad the legroom quite good. We also liked the 2 4 2 formation as we alre also just a couple travelling.
At Atlanta you need to retrieve your bag to carry it through customs, but you dont need to recheck it, it is taken from you as you emerge from customs and arrives at MCO.
No double baggage reclaim at MCO either.
On the way back it will be checked straight through.
Have fun!

We travelled to Tampa via Atlanta and I would recommend that you try and get a seat near the exit to ensure you are one of the first off the plane and first in the queue at customs. This could save you a lot of time at immigration.

Flight out was a 2-4-2 with no seatback TVs. Flight back was much nicer 2-5-2, and had seatback TVs. I enjoy flying Delta as the cabin crew are always so friendly.

Have a great time!!

Hi Paul.

Did this flight from Manchester last November.
Brand new plane in both directions with large seatback screens.

Food and staff were excellent.
Delta staff in Atlanta even got us on an earlier flight to MCO on the outbound leg, even though this was a more expensive option when we booked.
Definately more legroom than Virgin in a 2-5-2 configuration.

Had to reclaim baggage outbound - checked through on return. Immigration very friendly.
Have a great trip.

Barry.
