anybody ever book with delta vacations? They look like they have pretty good deals but I was unsure.
And if you have booked - what happens if codes come out - do they adjust the price as disney would?
Thanks for any help!

We booked our very first trip back in 98 with Delta vacations. The price seemed decent, but that was before I knew all of the things this board taught me, like codes, discounts and renting DVC points. We paid $3500 through them and that was for 5 nights at Poly concierge level, round trip flights for 2 adults and one 2 year old from Los Angeles, and what was then called the unlimited park hopper (now the UMP), and that was before AK was even opened! All in all what seemed like a decnt price was way more expensive than if I would have booked through Disney with a code, got our airfare on Orbitz or another travel website or done everything myself, plus we would not have been stuck with Mears to get from the airport to WDW. Also, I am almost positive that once you book with Delta they will NOT adjust the price for any codes or discounts since you are already getting their discount since they set aside rooms in bulk. They are totally seperate from Disney so any discounts you would get through Disney will not apply to a Delta reservation.

thank you so much for your advice . i had planned on booking with disney- just was exploring some other options. (especially now after what you told me)

No problem! I could have kicked myself after I saw how much money I could have saved. This is why these boards are so great! These days we rent DVC points from a trusted source I met here on the DIS and we stay at BCV for the price of a moderate-you can't beat that, and we never have to worry about codes and discounts. Feel free to PM me if you want more info on this, I can't figure out why more people don't do it. Good luck with your planning!

I USED to book with Delta Dream Vacations -- I'd get the air/car/hotel package for WDW. When I first started going, I always stayed offsite, then booked a few times for onsite. Finally, after many (too many) visits, I stumbled onto Mousesavers and discovered the magic "codes." Now I kick myself for paying practically rack rate prices for so long!

Delta vacations are nice -- to other places. But they don't give you the best rates/deals on WDW vacations.

We used Delta Vacations about 8 or 9 years ago. The first Disney vacation we booked with them seemed like a reasonable price. The following year, they were advertising "park hopper tickets are included when staying 4 nights or more." I was very excited and tried to book a vacation. It ended up being a gimmick or a poor choice of words. What they really meant was the park hopper tickets were included at an additional cost so there was no deal on the tickets. I was so angry that I did not book with them. I told my husband that we were not going because I thought it was a rip off, blah blah blah. Well then he suggested that I try and book everything myself and it was like a light bulb went off in my head. I actually saved enough money to include the park hopper tickets so in reality they were right. But they should have worded it: "park hopper tickets are included when staying 4 night or more if you don't book with us!"

I've been booking on my own ever since and have become quite good at it.

We used Delta Vacations and it was HORRIBLE! When we booked online there was a mistake on the website and although the package we bought stated that it included hopper passes, there was suppose to be something on the site where you could select hopper passes and there was not.

So we finally get the stuff for our trip and it was a wonderful "deal" but no passes? It LITERALLY took about 100 phone calls and MONTHS of being passed around from one person to another, having to go to the company that maintains the website etc.. to get some sort of remedy to this.

They were extremely rude, and since Delta Vacations is a separate company than Delta airlines, it was difficult to find out who you were dealing with.

In the end I think we got the passes at a discount rate or something. It was more trouble than it was worth!
