Delta, United or AA from LAX?

We want a direct flight from LAX to MCO as we are travelling with 2 young kids and a baby. From my research Delta, United and AA are the only airlines that offer a direct flight, and they seem to all be the same price. We are flexible so flight times are not important. We are Qantas frequent flyer members, but will not earn points on AA, as points are not earned on the cheaper flights. If you had to pick between these 3 airlines, is there any reason why you would pick one over the others?

I'm flying QF to LAX and then Delta to MCO - booked through WDW online bookings. the only reason was because the flight times matched up with the QF in and outbound flights. I felt that Disney gave me a good price - as good as if I booked direct. The AA offered fare was the same as the Delta fare.

From what I can gather Delta is like Virgin (well in Aust they will be the same soon) - and you pay extra for everything.

I'm like you - interested to hear the views of more experienced travellers:listen:

There's no real difference between the product on the three airlines (or the fees. )

Seriously I travel Domestic US carriers all the time. You get "BASIC" service, not a ton of leg room, pay for meals etc...

I have flown the Delta route on this one and it was fine. The plane did have individual seat back entertainment, but movies cost (earphones cost too, but you can use your personal set for free)

Here's a chart with the fees

Pick the one that fits your budget/time needs.

Some thoughts:

If you are connecting from Qantas to your domestic flight, then AA is closest to the International terminal at LAX, and United is the farthest away. Some Qantas flights actually use the same termianl as AA (#4), which would mean no need to clear security a second time.

If you have elite status on Qantas, there will be no bag check fee on AA.

If you are a member of the Qantas Club with access to the Qantas lounge, you will also have access to the Admirals Club when flying AA. There is an AC in LAX, but not in MCO.

You can usually pay to upgrade to a seat with more legroom on UA (Economy Plus).

As CarolA noted, DL has seat back TVs. Neither AA or UA have these on this route.

Best of luck -- Suzanne
