We are flying to Orlando from Boston via Song next week. First time on this airline. We will be on a Boeing 757, and the web site says we will be able to watch our own personal t.v. This sounds very nice, and I'm wondering if anyone here has experience with this. I'm assuming there's a charge for this. Anyone know how much? Animal Planet was part of the channel line-up, so that might work for me. DH is on his own ;) !

Nope, no charge for the TVs. They charge for food, and the food is actualy pretty good, but not for the TVs. Song is a vast improvement over traditional airline seating and service. I think you'll enjoy it!

Good luck!

I enjoyed song last feb. At that point only some of their planes had tvs. So on the way done we were without one- on the way back we did have one. They also have this trivia game where you can play with everyone else on the plane. It was a lot of fun. Some how I won one of the rounds, I was very impressed with myself;) All of this is free, the only thing that you would pay for is food and alcoholic beverages.

The food is good too, and not crazy in price. You can get a menu online before you go.

We will be splitting this upcoming trip between Jet Blue and Song.

We have flown Song round trip twice now and have 2 more flights booked with them.
Honestly I think their customer service/phone support is not the greatest. We have had to fight with them quite a few times...taking our seats away from us, changing flights on us, not issing credits they said they would(causing us to lose $$$), them booking us on the wrong flight when we called to change already booked flights, etc... However, we have had smooth, on time(even early), enjoyable flights with them and the price & times are right for us, so we keep going back. :D
The trivia game on the tvs was wonderful for me since I hate to fly. It really took my mind off the fact that I was way up in the air. I also liked being able to track our route on the tv...almost made me feel like I had some control, knowing where we were and how far we had left to go.
I believe they did have Animal Planet, and as noted above, there is no fee for the tv, the flight attendant will pass out an ear piece to hear it with. Oh and dont forget to check out the Disney tunes. ;)

We fly Song and have really enjoyed it. We loved the TVs. You can buy one of two premier type movies if you choose. I think it was about $5. My dd did this and watched Shrek 2.

One tip that we found to be quite helpful. We brought our own headsets. My dd used her's from her Sony Walkman and I bought some for about $20. Much more comfortable than the earpiece ones they give you for free.

I just want to second what Goofy4tink mentioned about the tv headphones. The ones they will supply you with are very uncomfortable, bring your own.

In addition to the tv channel line up, they also have music, trivia and a pretty good flight tracking channel. My DD8 watched our flight almost the entire 2 1/2 hours. She was amazed. The Flysong.com website gives you all the listings and whats available for food purchase. Just click on the link for the Song experience.

The last time I flew on Song (last month) I got to watch the Red Sox game on ESPN. How sweet is that?

Whew! I'm so glad to hear these positive reports on Song. I just booked Song for my mother to fly from Boston to meet me in WDW next May. I didn't know anything about the airline, but hoped it was OK. MinnieMes, I hope you'll post a report on it when you return.

I flew back Thursday, the day after the Red Sox won. They had at least 3 ESPN channels on SONG and I watched them, and I also played music trivia.
We enjoy SONG and will fly them again in December.

We are flying Delta Song in a week and I can't wait. My first time was this past May and I am hooked. You will love it. The tvs are so "awesome" and the trivia game is so much fun. It makes the time go by faster. This time my toddler twins will be flying w/me---but I'm not worried. Have a great time!!! :Pinkbounc

I thought no one could match Jet Blue, but Delta Song was just as great. Leather seats, TVs, and a wonderful and funny flight safety annoucement (one direction we got to vote on which version to listen to!)

Hi,

We have flown Song out of Logan more then once and they are very good. There is no additional fee for the personal tv and radio and headset. The do have the Animal Planet as I watched this on one trip while my husband watched a hockey game. Makes the flight go by so much faster.

We're flying Song out of NY-LaGuardia next Sunday and I have a question for those of you that have flown with them. Their carry-on limit for bags is smaller than other airlines (22x14x9 inches ). I'm pretty sure that my carry-on bag, which is a suitcase on wheels is bigger than this. I've brought this bag along on other airlines as a carry-on without a problem. Will I have to check this bag in?

I know I have used my regular wheeled bag as carry-on for Song. I think it's pretty normal sized. There's a lot of carry-on going on Song. I'm always amazed at what people carry-on with them. And there I am...obsessing about whether or not I have too big a bag, so I just check it!!!

We have nothing but good things to say about Delta Song. We are flying them again for our December trip. Played music trivia & watched the E! network on our last flight.

I agree with everyone above...bring your own headsets for the TV. Their headsets are uncomfortable.

FYI - the TV's are free but if you want to watch a movie, it does cost something like $5.00 per TV. The regular TV channels are free, however. A&E, Animal Planet, etc.

Song is great. DD says she only wants to fly in the bright green plane! I'm not a great flyer, but am very comfortable on Song. Drink prices and food prices are reasonable, too.

And they always have left on time and arrive in MCO on time or even early!

we flew SONG last week (first time) and it was a great experience. i cant think of one complaint. the food was very good (try the blue cheese salad) and the service was fantastic. they even have a jazzed up safety lecture before the plane takes off (they did it to music). you really cant go wrong with them since they are backed by Delta. the TV was great too - they even had a music station with all Disney music (including lots of songs from the theme parks!)
