We just flew Delta Song and thought they were wonderful. Both time we left on schedule( a few minutes early actually). The attendants were very nice and the plane was comfortable. Our flight to Orlando was only 1/2 full so the kids had extra room to stretch out and sleep. Coming home they had put tv's in all the seat backs so the kids watched the Cartoon network all the way home and we watched the news. They offered complimentary beverages but you have to buy any food. Wasn't a problem for us since we usually bring our own snacks anyway. I would fly them again.

Glad to hear you liked Song. We do too! We flew with them in August and found everything to be fine. We're using them again this coming Friday. Maybe we'll be lucky and the tv's will be in our plane!!!

Sounds great! We are flying them in 2 weeks so its nice hear good reviews...and bad I guess, but good are better. ;) Glad you enjoyed your trip.

Glad to hear you liked the flight. You stated you took your own food, they didn't mine you had your own? Can you purchase food on the flight or do you have to pre buy on their web site?
We are flying Song on the 13th.

Thank you Heidi :D

They didn't mind at all that we had food. On the way to WDW it was after 8pm. I ordered a salad and my mom ordered cheese and grapes. The kids ate whe food we had put in their backpacks. On the way home it was early, (7:45am). There was nothing on their menu that any of us would eat so my kids had little boxes of cereal that we brought with us and granola bars. You can pre-order your food if you want on their website but you don't have to pre-order. The non-alcohol drinks are free. Hope you enjoy your flight. They should have the tv's in all their planes by the time you use them. It really helped with the kids and also helped take my mind off of flying(I HATE to fly).

I'm curious as to if those who have flown Song actually were on a "Song" airplane or a "Delta" airplane? My DH is convinced that we'll be on an "old" Delta airplane and not "Song" one with the amenities...

Thanks so much for your positive review! We are flying Song in January and I was hoping that the TV's (if they are on our plane!) will keep the little ones busy!

flew song for the first time two weeks ago and was very pleased. As a former united employee this is saying a lot. I actually booked them again for our trip at the end of the month.
they are a great staff, ontime, and very friendly. my only thing is i think i am heading into miami airport with those neon green, pink, and purple seats!

We just got back, and we used Song. According to the flight attendant, the aircraft were bought from another company. They are all 757's. We were told only one aircraft right now has the tv's. It is being used to work the problems out of the system and they hope to have all the aircraft with tv's by Feb. Our flights left early and got in early. Our flight back was full. Some of the folks who did not pre order thier meals did not have what they wanted left. All the Song employees had to interview to be with Song. If the Delta Express folks did not want to go to Song they found spots for them with Delta.

Flew Song Boston to Orlando last week of November. Neither flight had the plane with TV's.

Neither flight had flight attendants really gung ho on entertainment, singing, cracking jokes, etc.

All in all the flights were very nice.\

Tried the food, it was reasonable. Typical cost, 5 to 10 dollars.

They did not run out of food totally, but if you or the kids really need to eat on the plane, bring something with you. Even a box of cereal will do.

It would not be easy to substitute a "Delta" plane for a "Song" plane because the seat arrangement is different. The Song planes have a few more seats.

Glad to hear such a good review for Song! We're flying them on the 22nd from Washington DC, and I was a bit apprehensive.. ;) I'm a former United flight attendant, and a current JetBlue devotee, so I'm a little spoiled. :teeth: Is there a first class section on the planes? I just want to know if there's any chance our honeymooning status will get us some perks. :o

What are the prices like on the food available for purchase? I like to bring my own food on board, but my DH is a sucker for novelty and will undoubtedly want to buy something to eat on the plane...

I just booked a flight for my son to NY and the agent told me that they are converted Delta Planes and Purchased Planes, the company is a spinoff of Delta on a 5 year deal. At the end of five years both companies will decide on full seperation. Their objective is to compete with the Southwest, Air-Tran, and Jet Blue's of today.

Song is an entirely coach class plane, no first class, no business class. You can pre-order your food from Song Airlines or try to get what you want en route. Prices for meals are about $7-8 with snacks around $5. Non-alcoholic beverages are free. Hope that helps. I'll be flying with them in June for my WDW Honeymoon.

We flew Song from Hartford in mid November - had two great non-stop flights to Orlando. Flight attendants were courteous, one was a good singer, and they were most attentive and patient!!! We will try to use this airline again in the future. Caroline

Just flew home from WDW on Song less than 24 hours ago. All in all our Song experience was very positive. I would definitely fly them again.

Going down the flight was half full -- but we were still stuck sitting next to this man (how he got to his seat before us, I don't know...we were the first Zone 3 to board...hmmm). Flight back was nearly empty and I was able to stretch out on the row across from my husband and sleep (it was an exhausting trip). Our flight home was delayed (through no fault of Song, anyone who flies out of Newark knows that if the Ikea has a long check out line they start delaying flights to Newark! ;) ). They kept changing the boarding and take off times, but kept us up to date.

The attendents were very nice (offered us stickers -- so I thought what the heck! I'll take one! I'm still a kid at heart). And there was a little humor injected into the safety spiel (please place your seats in the upright and most uncomfortable position).

I hope that I will have an opportunity to fly Song to WDW again soon!

Thanks for posting. I am trying out Song next month. I would love if the tv's are in our plane. I bought a portable DVD player for DD, but it would be nice to watch something other than Monsters, Inc.

I'm glad to read all of these recent, good reviews of Song. I've already purchased our airfare for our trip next summer. I don't believe in waiting until the last minute ;) It's rather funny though because so far we are the ONLY ones booked on our two flights. I check the flight seating schedule every once in a while. LOL

SeaSpray, I did the same thing! I purchased our tickets in September for our trip in August. I also check the seating from time to time and hardly anyone has booked our flight. I got a pretty good price and I'm glad I didn't wait, one less thing to worry about.

We're flying Song on January 9th from Boston. I'm wondering about the TV's, I don't really expect them to be on our flight, but...do you purchase your own earphones or do you use your own from home? I certainly hope they don't reuse them after each person uses them? Also, what channels can adults watch? I keep seeing the cartoon network, but do you get most of the basic channels too? thanks.

They provide earphones. There was no cost to them and they didn't say anything about there ever being a cost for them. They let you take them with you when you get off the plane. They will work on anything you can use headphones for at home. You won't get local network tv(whdh, wcvb or wbz etc). It is satellite tv so you get TLC, MSNBC, CNN, A & E, E!, The Animal Channel etc. There are a few others but I can't remember them off hand. And, there is the all important Cartoon Network for the kids.
