We are flying from Boston to Tampa on May9th. Our plane right now is showing as a 757. Is that what the Song planes were before with the tvs? I sent an email to Delta and asked if we were going to have tvs and they replied No. But if it is the same plane, do you think we will have tvs? Anyone spoken to Delta and know what is going on with the planes? I guess I am confused....Thanks....

I believe Delta also flys those. The last I heard, Delta was using the Song planes with those terrific tv's only on flights of over 1700 miles. It's too bad, I loved having those tv's on the flights from Boston to MCO. It certainly did keep the kids amused. Those flights were much quieter than those SW flights....kids yelling and jumping around. What a difference. Hopefully, it won't take Delta too long to get all the planes retrofitted with the tv's, but it will take awhile. I'm flying Delta on May 15 and I'm very sad I won't have my tv!!! Ah well.

We just took Song 757 on Friday from San Juan to JFK and was on a 757. The seats all had the tvs. We flew Song also not too long ago, again on a 757 and again they had tvs.

The Song fleet was a fleet of Boeing 757 aircraft, but Delta also operated Boeing 757 aircraft in a Delta configuration. The Song configuration had personal LCD televisions, but the Delta configuration only had video monitors on the ceiling above the aisle.

When Delta announced the end of the Song brand, they announced that the Song aircraft would be converted to two classes of service (replacing some of the economy seats in the front of the cabin with first class seats), and that these aircraft would be redeployed for longer domestic flights, such as cross-country flights.

If you're flying between Boston and Tampa, I would expect the Delta configuration. I recently flew between Chicago and Atlanta on Delta 757 aircraft both ways, and neither flight used ex-Song aircraft.

You never know know, but I wouldn't count on ex-Song aircraft.

The aircraft that were previously the Song fleet are being redeployed to Delta's long-haul domestic service -- coast-to-coast flights.

Thanks for all of the replies. I will assume that we won't have tvs.... So if we luck out, that will be even better.
Do you think if the map of the seats isn't showing any first class seats, then it is the old Song plane with tvs or will it just be an all coach Delta plane with no tvs as well, Sorry, if I am confusing!!! Thanks again.

If the seat map is currently showing a Song configuration, you're currently scheduled to be on a Song aircraft.

However, Delta is notorious for changing flight numbers, aircraft types, and departure times, sometimes very close to the travel date. On my Atlanta flights, Delta changed from MD-80 series aircraft to 757 aircraft just a few weeks before travel.

Was able to do some checking. If you are on one of the two nonstop flights bos-tpa then you are currently schduled to be on a song configured plane. Hope this helps.

I am flying from Boston to MCO and when I talk to Delta they can't tell me what type of plane this is. It really makes me mad b/c I booked this flight long ago when they were Song... they assured me that even if they merged back in with Delta that it would still be a "song flight/plane". My flight is sold out so I can't tell what type of seating it is by looking at the plane seating chart.

Are there any travel agents or others out there that could help me figure out what type of plane Im on?? I'm flying Delta, May 4th out of Boston at 11:00AM. THANK YOU!!

I am on a Delta flight on May 4th out of Boston at 7:20 am. I am in row 1 so my guess is I am on a Song plane. My ex dIL works for Delta and did my seating for me when it kept changing.

My flight is still showing up with the Song configuration also. Both flying from Boston to Orlando on May 15 and then back to Boston from Tampa on the 21st. We'll just have to wait and see what happens. I figure that if they stop changing my flights around, and the pilots show up to fly the darn plane, then I'll be happy to just get to Florida!!!

Your're killing me... I have two threads and you've scolded me on both! I am here asking questions.

I am booked on Jetblue for the return. Pricing is a huge obstacle for some people. Plus, when you book with Song, Jetblue or whoever, you would expect the service that you booked at the time.

That's all I'm saying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If tvs are that important to you, you should have gone with JetBlue, which has them on their BOS-MCO flights.

I understand your disappointment, but please understand that, even on JetBlue, the service we are purchasing is transportation from one city to another, sometime during a specific day. It doesn't include televisions -- it doesn't even include the specific seat assignments, the same aircraft, or even the scheduled flight times. We shouldn't hinge our satisfaction on these things, as they're not something that is being guaranteed to us.
