I messed up. I booked my flight first using my miles, then when I went to book my daughters...she doesn't have enough. That's odd because she's been on every flight I've been on....

My question is, what's the least amount of miles you've ever seen for a flight? Mine from Columbus, Ohio to Orlando was 12,500. She has 11,400...ever seen it go that low?

I'm just wondering if I should wait or pay the $70 to buy the extra miles.

When I triy to cancel my flight Delta wants to charge me $150 to reinstate my miles! This is why I usually fly SouthWest.

The mileage won't go lower. Delta is notorious for charging a ton of miles for tickets. Pay the $70 to buy the extra you need.

25,000 roundtrip, which would be 12,500 each way. You were very lucky to get a 12,500, they are hard to come by. I would buy the extra miles before it goes up.

Have you considered checking her miles and perhaps calling to figure it out?

I'm starting to think I just didn't sign her up for SkyMiles when she first started flying as I thought she had to be an adult (she was 4).

I followed the advice of others and went ahead and purchased the extra miles for $70 +tax. Add the $5.60 fee and her ticket cost me around $80. I don't think that's bad for a one-way, straight flight, Columbus, OH to Orlando.

Delta doesn't make it easy to sign up kids. Super-annoying. All other airlines I've used make it easy, but Delta requires a faxed form. Weird. DS hasn't yet used a paid-for ticket, so he doesn't even have an account with Delta yet. Soon though our accumulated miles will be gone and he'll get an account.
