Hi Everyone,

I know no one is psychic (or maybe you are :thumbsup2) but what are the chances...??

The last few trips we have flown NWA/now Delta from Detroit To MCO. The flights this trip are looking to be around $300-$400 more for our family of four.

I have been watching the prices for about a month or so and have noticed they are not budging. When it was still NWA I would pop on and their website and there would be a unannounced price drop and I would scoop them up.

Anyone a big Delta flier who thinks there is a chance the prices will lower for a January flight??

I have signed up for their email deals and not a single thing has been sent out (versus other airlines who seem to have a sale regularly)

Delta isn't my preferred airline, but I have recently gotten really good return fares from Orlando to Bloomington, IL (via Detroit) for March 9 ($71 + taxes) and May 2 ($79 + plus taxes). I think Delta's fares change pretty frequently. The $79 fare for May 2 was available for only a few hours on a Tuesday evening 2 weeks ago, and I was lucky to see it. Keep checking fares throughout the day...every day!

You don't indicate your dates of travel in January but I see nonstop flights from Detroit with AirTran for $67.00 or $155.40 rt incl taxes.

Departing: Saturday, January 15, 2011 Earn 1 A+ credit $67.00 - Coach
Detroit, MI (DTW) to Orlando, FL (MCO) Flight 1483
6:39 PM 9:15 PM

Returning: Saturday, January 22, 2011 Earn 1 A+ credit $67.00 - Coach
Orlando, FL (MCO) to Detroit, MI (DTW) Flight 1484
9:50 AM 12:23 PM

Total $155.40 incl taxes.

Also Spirit Air flies non-stop from Detroit as well .... are you price checking the other airlines as well?

Make sure you know the baggage, seat assignment fees so you can do a true comparison though.

Hi we are looking at the last week of January, Sat to Sat most likely. We normally get an early morning flight and then the latest afternoon flight coming home. Which of course I know raises the ticket price.

I have been watching Spirit airlines. I did see the seat and baggage charges.

Air Tran is also on my radar, along with United, etc. We don't mind a stop over but those prices are not any cheaper.

Not sure of your exact dates, but I just put in Jan 22 - 29 and it came up with a non-stop for $242 (including taxes and fees). I've been checking Delta and just got our flights for next Aug. from Hartford for $189 which is the lowest we have paid in many years.
