So to get the baggage reduced you can do online check in at delta and pay for the baggage 24 hours before flight. How can someone do this at Disney with no internet acess? I will be staying at Port orleans and was wondering if it was something I could do at the magical express counter? Any suggestions?

First there is no Magical Express counter at any resort, there is a RAC (resort airline checkin) desk at each resort but you do not have to be using Magical Express to use RAC. If you want to use RAC you cannot check in on line. It locks the RAC people out and you will not be able to check your bag at the resort (learned this the hard way). You will have to pay bags the fees to BAGS and you cannot get the discount.

If you are not checking your bags at the resort I am not aware of any place that has internet access that would allow you to do on line checkin and pay for your bags at DW

Okay this is the desk I was talking about. I will be taking ME back to airport and do want them to take my bags for me. So to make sure I understand, I should check in at the RAC and pay for my baggage fees at this desk? I could have sworn I thought I seen on the boards someone say you could still prepay baggage before I go to this desk. :confused3 So when do I pay for the bags at the RAC. If I do not go to RAC then I will have to take my luggage to the airport myself one I get off magical express. Right.

The last time we did ME, we got a notice the night before of a number to call to pay the fee to BAGS. Then you're Ok when you get to the counter.

Yes, you need to pay for the bags before using RAC.

You can call the day before departure.

I was told on here that check in will help you check in on line for your flights and pay for your baggage? I plan on using the internet in our room a couple times so I'll just do it from there with the laptop...

The problem is if you check in on line you cannot use RAC and have to take your bags to the airport with you. When you checkin on line the computer locks the RAC people out and they can't print your baggage tags. So yes if you have a laptop you can check in on line and pay your baggage fees or Concierge can help you check in but I don't know if they would be able to pay your fees since it is their computer and not a public one but you wouldn't be able to use RAC and will have to take your bags to the airport.

With Spirit and Northwest, you can go online anytime before your flight and choose to pay for your bags, you don't have to wait until the 24 hour check-in. So if Delta is the same way, you can go online now while at home and pay for your bags, both departing & return flights, and then you won't have to worry about doing it at the resort.

THere have been reports here that some have been able to pay for their baggage fees right at the RAC counter. When I was there in Dec, at BW, I was told (by the RAC people) that fees had to be paid before heading to the counter...so you had to call BAGGS and give credit card info.

RAC is not the same as DME....I know, I know...it's a little thing. But, it does cause some confusion here. They are not the same entity. RAC is really curbside checkin....but the 'curb' is way far away from the airport. DME is the service that puts you on the bus and gets you to, and from, your resort and airport. It has nothing to do with checking your bags or getting your boarding pass issued..that is up to RAC.

I was looking at the delta site and it appears to me that you cannot pay for luggage till 24 hour mark. Unless I am missing something. My flight back is northwest but now with the merger my flight number was changed to a delta flight. Didn't know till yesterday when I checked.

I tried paying my luggage for Northwest a few days ago and it wouldn't let me either...I'm guessing I have to wait till the 24 hour check in...

Ok well at least you should be able to pay for your bags for both your departing and return flights while you're still at home (at the 24-hour check-in), so you won't have to worry about it at the resort.

Yeah I don't get what everyone is talking about RAC? What's that got to do with ME? All you do at ME is drop off your luggage at the bell check right? I planned on paying for my arrival and return flight luggage fees as soon as I can check in 24 hours...

RAC, as stated in my first post in this thread is Resort Airline check in , you check your bags in at this counter and you don't see them again until you arrive at your home airport. If you are taking your luggage with you on magical express that is fine but some people like to check their luggage at the resort so they don't have to deal with it at the airport and if you use this service you cannot use on line checkin as it will lock the rac people out.

Oh.... I thought you could only check luggage for the flight leaving next day not my return home. Maybe I was thinking this because originally it was a different airline for return home and different confirmation number. I was thinking I had to do one on the way there and one on the way back. Now with them all being delta flights one confirmation and one checkin. Fabulous.
