Prices had been climbing higher and higher until two days ago I was finding flights around the $550 mark. Much too high and I've been worried they'd keep going up.

Middle of the night peek at the Delta site last night and there are many flights out of Duluth for $258 ($300 total). I'm shocked they came down so much, shocked but thrilled! The flight times leave a little to be desired but at this point the price was more important to us than the times.

Those of you watching and waiting...this might be a good time to jump!

Good luck everybody!

How about Allegiant our of Duluth into Sanford?

MSP is 2.5 hours south and there are many more flight options...

DisMN - I have been watching Allegiant for spring break. Also pricing out of MSP, RST or anywhere within a 5 hour drive distance for us - which includes Omaha, Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, LaX, even Chicago. I have had no luck finding anything cheaper than $475. Had to have the discussion with dh last night that if nothing comes up is he ok with driving. Hate to drive it, we have done it once before. Thanks for posting the update.

OT - we are heading to Duluth tomorrow for MEA weekend! It is one of our family's favorite getaways.

We considered Allegiant but at this time they only fly into Sanford. That airport sounds nice and relaxed compared to MCO but we don't add the expense of renting a car so we take Magical Express. ME doesn't go to Sanford.
We may fly out of Duluth but we're a little more than an hour north of Duluth, so a 3+ hour trip north on each end of our vacation makes for not so much of a vacation.
That being said $300 out of Duluth is a fantastic price!

tink lover, have fun in Duluth! Ya got big plans? Make sure you leave plenty of time to go somewhere down there what with all the road construction going on right now. Also, if you're into haunted house stuff, the William Irvin oar boat (by the DEC) is holding is Haunted Ship again this year. Just remember to wear your diapers cuz ya get the doo-doo scared out of ya! EEK! LOL

Oh - the kids will love the Haunted Ship - thanks for the suggestion! We are going to do the train up to Lester River and have hockey tickets for the Bulldogs game on Sat night. I think it is homecoming?

I think Homecoming was actually last weekend, but you will still have a fun weekend in Duluth. We haven't even had snow yet! I hope you have a good time in our lovely city and that the good weather continues!

Those flight prices you found are really great! I really thought flights from here would get cheaper when United came in...Delta stinks. ha ha I was pondering using Allegiant until I found out you can't use ME from the Sanford airport AND Allegiant is not flying to Orlando in Nov & Dec. What's the deal with that?

Hope you all manage to get decent priced flights, and I'm happy to hear that you enjoy visiting my city!! :goodvibes

Threadjack!

MEA weekend is here, and I'm stuck down in Rochester, about to go chaperone a "homeless" event and sleep outside in a box tonight with the 14yo dd. Chance of rain tonight for the first time in over 20 days....great!

We should be in Duluth right now, either at the Mt. Villas or the Edge....

Oh, and on topic, Delta was around $300 for us from MSP, and we leave in 2 weeks!!!

I had not heard about a homeless event and we live in Roch. Just back home and checking flights again.

Anytime you guys are interested in a meet - maybe at MOA or somewhere around the Cities - it would be fun to try to get together!
