Delta lowered airfare!

My SIL told me to check at 1:00 am to get lower airfare. I didn't pay much attention because I heard Wed. was the day to check. Last night I checked and save $75.00 on our three tickets from Dayton to Orlando. I am excited! Now to watch Airtran to see if I can get the returns at a lower price. (We buy 2 one ways so we have 2 evening non-stop flights).

Curious...what did you pay for each ticket? We just got tickets from Columbus to Orlando for $125 each on Southwest.

It was $89.20 per ticket with tax. They have only one evening non-stop out of Dayton and Airtran has a morning non-stop.

Can you tell me where you looked to find the cheaper rate? Just this week on an AOL message board someone wrote that the prices dropped at 3am and/or Wednesday. I didn't really believe this.
Would this appear on Expedia or Travelocity or directly thru the carriers website? I normally don't stay up that late, but will be happy to in order to get cheaper tickets!

Yeah, I can vouch for that. Airfare had been running about $240pp from Huntsville to Orlando and my sister found the same flights for $156pp last night. So finally everyone on our trip has airfare and I can stop stressing about it!

Booked directly at the Delta website, FTR, but we originally found the fare drop while searching at mobissimo.com.

I actually have found the airline websites a couple of $ less than Expedia, Orbitz, etc. I found the fare on Delta's website. I am not sure what they would do if you have the tickets already.

Small World!!! I am also in Dayton!

I paid $226.90 when I bought my roundtrip ticket back in March. However, I was really picky about the times I wanted - and got - and neither of those flights have any cheap seats left. My DD, future son-in-law, & DGD are taking the auto train from DC, and will get in mid-morning(?) on December 18th. My non-stop flight leaves Dayton at 11am and lands in Orlando at 1:15pm - just a perfect time for them to pick me up at the airport before we buy groceries and check into our rented villa at 4pm.

Our vacation ends on Jan. 1st, and I scheduled an afternoon flight so I can help DD get everything out of the villa and into their van, so they can drop me at the airport before getting back to the train station mid-afternoon for their journey home. My non-stop return flight leaves Orlando at 3pm & gets into Dayton at 5:20pm. When we first discussed the dates, I could have bought this same ticket for $206.90, but by the time DD got everything settled on her end, the price had gone up. I waited a couple more weeks - and watched it go up even further, before settling back down to $226.90 - at which time I bought my ticket.

Even if I could have saved some money on different flight arrangements, the flight times and non-stop service are definitely worth a little extra to me. (Although, I wouldn't be averse to voluntarily giving up my seat on the return flight in exchange for a free roundtrip ticket to be used at a later date - even if it involves changing planes. At that point my departure and arrival times won't impact anybody else's plans - except my other DD who will be picking me up in Dayton - but she's flexible.)
