Does anyone know what a light meal on a delta flight is? We will be on 2 flights from 6 am (pacific time) to 4:30 pm (eastern time) with a 50 minute layover so I am not sure if I should pack food or if 2 light meals is enough? My youngest is 15 so I do not have any little ones to worry about.
Thanks! :goodvibes

Thanks Bob, I couldnt find anything on the delta site when I looked. I am still confused though because our reservation says "light meal" and these are all snacks. I guess I will just have to call and ask so I know whether to bring food. I wasnt expecting to get a meal but since it says that, it seems like it should be more than peanuts or a granola bar?
However, I am glad we get something to eat. On our flight home, we get nothing, flying American.

A couple of years ago on a cross-country flight, I had a small sandwich (turkey?) and something salty (chips or snack mix) and something sweet (cookie of some sort). That's probably similar to what you'd have (in addition to peanuts per usual and soda/water, etc).

When I flew Delta in October, I got these little boxes on my flights. They had a package of crackers, a little thing of cheese, a bag of pretzels, and a package of oreos. They were nice snacks, but for the length of the flight, I found myself wanting a little more. I'd bring something with you.

I called Delta today and the person I talked to said the same thing, that I should bring food because it would be more like a snack. So I guess it is peanut butter sandwiches or subs from Safeway. Thanks for all the advice.

Unless you are sitting in First Class on Delta you won't get a meal but a "snack" on a domestic flight. Snacks are usually either peanuts, pretzels, cheese crackers or Biscoff cookies along with a beverage (soda, juice, water, coffee). You can purchase alcoholic drinks for $5 each.

I always bring food onboard - even when I fly in First. I much prefer the fruit cup from Starbucks and a salad from Chili's to the offerings onboard.

If you only have a 50 minute layover then that is a very tight connection and you may not have time to get any food in the airport - remember you board your next flight 30 minutes early so technically you only have 20 minutes to get from one gate to the other assuming your first flight is on time.
