OK, here's the deal...
My husband and I are apparently ijits, because we just relaized that last time we moved, we forgot to change the address on our driver's license.

We leave for the World in 45 days, traveling by a combination of Amtrak and Delta airlines. I know we can use our driver's licenses as identification, but are they still acceptable if the address on the license doesn't match the address on our tickets/reservations?

Since we only have 45 days till we leave, I don't think we have time to go get our licenses changed; I seem to remember that the last time we renewed our licenses it took a REALLY long time to get the new ones in the mail. What if they just stapled an official change-of-address piece of paper to our current licenses, would that make them acceptable as ID?

Is this even an issue??

Where I live, you go down to the DMV and get that taken care of the same day. It's been a long time since I last moved, so I can't remember if I got a new license then or if there was a change of address sticker attached to it.

I don't think the addresses have to match in any case. I sometimes use my passport for identification when I fly, and there are no addresses on passports.

I don't think it matters, I never changed mine the last two times I moved and flew a number of times. Last time we flew I booked the flights for everyone together including other family memebers that don't live with us. My address was the only one given. I'm pretty sure they only ask for an address to make sure it matches the cc billing address.

The TSA screeners will check your boarding pass and photo ID. Since the boarding pass does not contain any home address information, there's no way that they would be able to determine that the address on the ID didn't match the address used to make the reservation.

Now, if you're in violation of some state law regarding how quickly you need to notify the DMV of your address change, that's another story. Not one that the TSA would be concerned with, however.
