I just got off the phone with Delta and the rep. from group sales tried to convince me that it is cheaper to book round trip than two one ways. I know in years past this was true but.. when I just did two one ways it came out to the same price as a round trip.

Also does anyone know what time (during the night) the schedules open up for the next day booking dates.

The RT vs. one way fare seems to vary with the market. We fly to Orlando a lot and been able to book one way fares at 1/2 the cost of the RT fare. I've been watching the one way fare to FLL for months (currently $220 + taxes one way!!!) and just realized that we'll be paying more than 1/2 the RT fare. So, it's not looking hopeful that we'll be able to fly the only airline with direct flights from BDL to FLL.

We book one way because we can select the cheapest airline (Delta, SWA, or others) and best flight times for us for each leg of the trip, particularly if we're flying into one Florida city and out of another. There's better flexibility. I think more people have caught on that they can do this and save $$$ and get better flight times and possibly a direct flight. Perhaps the sales rep is just trying to secure your business for both legs of the trip.
