Last year they went way down...do you tink that they willl this year? They came down $50 since yesterday..can't decide to buy or not.

If they dropped $50.00 I think I would go ahead and buy. As the previous poster said the word is that Delta prices are going up and other airlines are following suit.

I can't fly Delta direct out of Dallas anymore, so am stuck with American. Their prices have been running around $240.90-$254.90 for the last couple of months. One day last week I just happend to click on their NetSAAvers site. Out of curiosity I entered our Sept dates and found tickets for $176.90/person. That was too good a deal to pass up, so we are now flying instead of driving in Sept. I was really lucky, my D-I-L keeps changing her mind and can't decide if she'd rather drive or fly, so I told them to make their minds up for sure, because if they wanted to fly I needed to hurry and get tickets. When she finally said fly, I was going to buy those tickets no matter what they cost, just so she couldn't change her mind again. Instead, I found a great deal. I checked last night and those same seats are now back up to $249.70.

If you find a good price that you can live with, I would go ahead and book. I'm still keeping a close eye on my dates for Dec and if they ever go below $200.00 I'm buying them.

Delta raised their R/T from Hartford to Orlando $60 this past weekend and just raised the R/T to Fort Lauderdale. Who knows if they were have a sale (which might lower the cost to what it was last week, but not lower!). It's tough to know what to do.

Have you tried Delta Song?

I was fishing around on their site this afternoon (Flysong.com) and saw Hartford to Orlando for $49 each way in September. (Sorry I don't have all the availability dates/details).

We just bought tickets from Southwest at the same exact rate. Just wish I saw the Song rate first since they have the TV's in all the seatbacks!

I just read an article about Delta's fares going up :sad2: - here is the link to the article......

Those fare increases only apply to last minute fares.

Read the article carefully. Delta is not raising prices across the board. The price increase is a $100 over the cap on last minute fares.

Song's fares went down too! Anyone have experience getting them to change your fare? I bought my 2 tickets Friday for $320! They're at $270 now!

Fares dropped in my area as well. We are flying direct out of Greensboro to Orlando in Oct, last week the rate was 242 now it is 192. Im glad I waited :)

We fly out of Greensboro too-and we were looking in Oct. Last year ticket prices fell to $125 in the fall-can't decide to buy now or wait.

Personally I think that none of us have a clue... LOL!

I think Im going to go ahead and book since I doubt they will get any lower with the rising fuel cost and such. Have you ever flown direct to Orlando from G-boro? I noticed its not a very large plane, seing as this our first time flying Im not sure what to expect.

Prices dropped so dramatically b/c Independence Air just started in the GSO market and had a special on direct flights to MCO.

No more direct flights from Indy, so now they go thru Dulles.

We originally booked our December trip w/Delta out of RDU b/c RDU fares were $172 vs $232. Delta dropped our return flight and tried to put us on an earlier flight. I was able to get them to switch our flights out of GSO...leaving GSO 2 hours earlier and MCO 2 hours later...at no extra charge!

As far as flying direct out of GSO, we love it. Delta flies the regional jets that only holds 45-50 passengers. Quick on, quick off. Plus, don't check your luggage. Just roll it out to the plane and they'll valet it to the luggage compartment. When you get off the plane, you'll be able to get your bag and go. The cool thing is that the flight path will take you directly over Hilton Head Island and Daytona Beach.

You may also want to check out the SouthWest site. They have direct flights out of RDU for $39 each way.

LOve the direct flight from GSO to MCO...we catch the 9pm flight after school and home on late flight out of Orlando at 9:45pm.

Indpendence doesn't fly direct to Orlando-change in Wash.

Thanks for the info. About not checking luggage, how would that work with DME? Would it just be easier to check our luggage or can you not do that on a regional jet? Also I heard there isnt a lot of space for carry-on luggage on the regional jets, is that true? There will be 2 of us and we have a standard size carry-on and a laptop bag, will we be able to carry those on board or is there not enough room? Thanks for your help.

If you're using DME, then it should be OK to check your luggage. (I believe Delta is one of the partnered airlines.) DME will pick up your bags and deliver them to your resort. If you weren't using DME, then rolling your bags to the jet will get you out quicker.

There is not much room for carry on on a RJ. The laptop should fit fit fine under the seat and small bags in the overhead are OK. When you get down to the bottom of the ramp of a RJ, they'll take your carryon on bags and stow them underneath the plane. When you get off, they'll have the bags waiting for you on the tarmac or ramp, so you can bypass baggage claim all together.

I finally booked my tickets on Delta and the fare went down $60 per ticket, I could just cry.....
