I've read the promo info for the Delta credit card. It appears that all members on your reservation (up to 9 I think it said) could have their baggage fee waived if the card holder is the lead on the reservation. Anyone have experience with this?

I'm thinking it may be worth getting the card (for at least the first year with no fee) because I have 3 trips booked on Delta (Feb., April, and August). 2 trips are just me and my 2 kids, so same last name (3 people total). The 3rd trip is with my Girl Scout troop (7 people total). I'm just wondering if the fees would really be waived for that last trip with so many different last names.

Yes, that's correct. I'm at WDW right now with a friend. We are both on the same reservation and I have the Delta AmEx. We both got 1 free bag. As long as they are on the same reservation as you, they will be included. I believe it's up to 8 people. The American Express is connected to your Skymiles account, so anytime you check-in, the system knows you get the free bag. You don't need to show your card at the airport or charge the tickets on your AmEx. I've been getting a free bag on tickets I purchased with my corporate credit card.

Travel companions get a free checked bag when they are part of the same airline record. If your scout troop buys their tix separately they won't be in your record (reservation) and won't get the free bag benefit. Doesn't matter how many different names, just that they are all on the same reservation with you.

yes, the key is having the same reservation number.

I booked the tickets all at once, so we are all under the same reservation - teenage girls will appreciate being able to check a bag instead of trying to go with carryon only!

Thanks.
