Delta changed our seats from row 5 to 42

I just booked our flights for Feb 07 last week. Yesterday, I looked up our flight and was shocked it went up to $609 one way but I also noticed that they were only offering 1st class seats. When I booked my seats it showed the 757 with all seats offered so I picked row 5 & 6.

So I called Delta and she said that since they changed my seats to 1st Class and I didn't buy 1st class seats they put me in row 42- yikes!!! She said they do that automatically, so I just wanted to warn everyone who has good seats if the plane is being switched over to offer 1st class you may lose your good seats. In addition, I couldn't even get the seats before the wing as they were reserved for Medallion level customers. I guess they should have put me with the luggage-- maybe next week when I check my seats thats where I'll be.

I booked about 6 weeks ago as well for February school vacation week of 2007. I suspect that when we booked, Delta's schedule still reflected Song configured aircraft. Since they are pulling those aircraft off the MA-FL routes, it makes sense that we don't get first class seats.

The same thing happened to me and we are travelling in Dec.I think we were given row 43 or 44 and checking with seat guru these were next to the restroom so I changed them to 35 (I think)which at least an average seat
