Delta Changed Our Flight, AGAIN, This Time for the Better

This is the second major change in our flight schedule, the first one would have had us landing home after 8 pm, not acceptable. Got that changed to a 4:47 landing and the later take-off wasn't too hard to take either, and I used the Delta web site to choose better seats. This morning I checked our itinerary as I do daily and noticed that instead of landing at MCO at 12:32 pm we'll be on the ground at noon, a shorter layover at ATL being the difference. This is the sort of change I can live with but the thing is I had to discover it for myself, no notice from Delta or Travelocity, through whom I booked the flight. Perhaps one or the other will e-mail me later, but the moral of this tale is keep up with your flights yourself.

delta called two weeks ago and almost freaked out my husband.........they had to put us on a different flight because our pervious one did not have enough time to make it to the next gate...we leave tomorrow at six am.......can hardly wait.....

If you like the flights immediately telephone and re-request/reconfirm seat assignments which will accept the change. If you do not formally and pro-actively accept the change and also the flight number is different, you might be changed to yet another flight number due to overbooking.

Good to know you got a flight change for the better.
Delta changed our flights to get us into Orlando MANY hours later.......we chose our original flight so we'd have some daylight left in our day but Delta decided otherwise.
I've been to the website to see if I could change my flight to something else and I'm apparently not able to make any changes on our itinerary...weird. The way I figure it now is we still have a month to go, between now and then they could change the flights several more times. I guess I'll wait and see where we're at the week before we go and worry about it then. LOL

Again, glad to know sometimes they change your flight times for the better!!

I had quite a few irritations with Delta pre-flight with them changing cities I flew into and then dropping service from my airport altogether! And then every time a flight number or a flight time changed by even a few minutes, I lost my assigned seats. However, I flew to Orlando the day before Thanksgiving and returned Dec. 4th, and Delta's service ON the flights was very good.

You must telephone to accept the change first. Since/while you will be on the phone you might as well specify the subsequent changes you want then and there.

I didn't know I had to call........thanks for that info! Will look into it first thing tomorrow!

I've booked Delta for the first time ever for upcoming March trip (fly SW otherwise), and only 2 weeks after booking my flight, I checked online and saw the flight had changed by about 10 minutes and it appeared that I no longer had seat assignments. After spending about 20 minutes on hold on the phone last night, I talked to someone who had to "confirm" the flight, and then I did have seat assignments that showed up. The new seat assignments were similar if not the same and still had our party together. I do wonder how many more times this will happen, and what would have happenned if I hadn't checked and called to "confirm". Would we still have had those seat assignments? I don't know, but this aggravation is likely to keep me with our old standby of SW in the future!

Having similar experiences as you last October (multiple changes, disappearing and reappearing seats) over a couple of months' booking time, we learned our lesson: if SWA goes on our route, fly it! We've never had those problems with them. SWA!
