Delta Carryon Question

Hi,

We will be flying for the first time since Sept 11th in August. I know that now most airlines including Delta only allow one carryon and a "personal item". Just wondering if a Camcorder is considered a personal item? It is not on the list of items. I was thinking of emailing Delta but I was wondering if anyone here had flown Delta Express recently and new first hand.

My DH carried on both a carry-on and his camcorder bag on Delta in November.

I've carried a cam-corder on board, but not since 9/11. With things constantly changing, I'd check with Delta directly just to be sure.

Can you put your camcorder into a large carryon? That's what I did with my laptop in December, it fit inside my carryon and allowed me to carry my purse as my personal item. It was either put my large purse into my carryon or the laptop.
