DELTA cancels 7:53 pm flight to Orlando 8/29/06!!!

BAD NEWS~ due to Hurricane Ernesto (THANX ERNIE ) Delta cancelled the flight into Orlando tonite!!! Hopefully, this Hurricane will end soon, and all the flights can be off to the most magical place on earth! Has any one else experienced cancellations thru their airline/airport due to this?

So far the status is 'On Schedule' for 08/29/06. Looks like it's just delayed?

In recent years airlines have been doing a lot of evening flight cancellations just before a storm so planes don't sit overnight in the affected airport. This makes it more difficult to get passengers out quickly after the storm because there are no loaded planes raring to go as soon as the airport runways re-open. Instead they have to wait for the next round of planes to come in the next day.

Not sure where the confusion over this flight came in but it is on it's way to Orlando as are Jet Blue flights this evening. They are delayed but that may be due to the conditions in NY more than in FL.
