Delta and going through customs

I have found flights to LAX with Delta for next year. Flight 65 seems to go from Manchester to Atlanta and then its the same flight number to Los Angeles

At first I was thinking you would stay on the plane to let other passengers on but then wondered if you might have to get off to go through customs as you had arrived on US soil.

What are your thoughts?

With Delta it usually means they have not finalised the 2nd leg of your journey. DL65 is MAN~ATL a route we do often. You will get an update nearer with times & flight number of your 2nd leg. Times they have given you will be based on their current schedule but this could easily change by the time you go (don't think we have ever had a Delta reservation without at least one change, sometimes multiple)

No plane arriving stops to allow passengers on, they all have to be unloaded, luggage re-checked and passenges go thru immigration.

We havent flown with Delta for some years (when we did an indirect flight to Orlando)

How did you find them? We have now booked BTW so too late if they are really bad (but then you wouldnt have flown with them several times, I thought, if they are that bad)

No problems at all but twice we flew business class so that helps.

They still have no seatback TV's after promising them on that route for about 2 years, hopefully they will soon. We are on the DL65 again 1st April, then down to Miami.
You can upgrade the transatlantic leg for about £50 each way, their Economy comfort gives you about 5" extra legroom, similar to VA PA, well worth it if you have the money spare.
