Can anyone that has flown Delta recently please let me know their thoughts? We usually fly Continental, but have been given a quote with Delta airline. Also, how is the Atlanta airport to go through?
Thanks, Kelly

I fly them just about every week. They are just like any other major airline. Overall good, but you never know!

our past flights have been with a change in Atlanta - we've never had a problem - usually give ourselves 45-60mins btwn flights

On our first trip to Orlando in '99, we flew Delta. I said....'Never again.' Talk about a cattle car. But, now we fly Song out of Boston. It's a much better experience for us. Still Delta, I know. But it's different. And we always get non-stop for a pretty good rate. No way do I want to be stopping in Atlanta. In fact, my dh won't fly if we have to stop there. He just hates it there. And since he has a lot of business in Atlanta, that's a problem :rotfl: !!!

We have flown Delta in the past out of Providence, but they no longer have direct flights to Orlando from that airport. Like goofy4tink, we weren't wild about the stopover in Atlanta either. Even though it is a longer ride (40+ min vs 20 min), we also now fly Song out of Boston. Actually this year we could have flown Southwest out of Providence for a little less money, but will be flying Song. :wave2:

We flew Delta for the first time ever last week. We usually fly SWA. The plane seems smaller as far as seating/leg room goes, we flew 4 different types of planes, from a 50 passenger jet to a 767 and they all seemed smallish.
They give cruddy snacks. So bring your own if you need one. We are used to SWA snack packs. All of our flights were delayed a bit and we had to deal with the Northeast weather mess on Tuesday and stayed in Orlando an extra day (which cost us a fortune, not Delta's fault though). They did send us from MCO to Atlanta first class the next day (big whoop, I like coach) but it was good intentioned I am sure.... or maybe that was the only seats available as I didn't ask or pay for it.
The flight attendents were all fine, older and heavier women FA's (which I thought was nice as I relate that with wisdom and motherhood) and more men in our experience, but the FA's were not as outgoing and friendly as SWA.

I went with the lowest priced flight though and would probably do it again now that I think about it. :wave2:

We flew Delta last year from NW Arkansas Regional through Atlanta to Tampa with no problems. But what I've read about them recently makes me wonder about our trip October. Delta prices are higher than AA or NWA, and they've made a lot of service-type cutbacks . By Oct., they'll probably be charging for water. I dunno. Right now, tickets for AA and NWA are almost $50 each cheaper. That'll probably be the deciding factor.

Unless you are like me or Safty Mom and out there collecting FF miles go with the cheapest. I think DL has good service, but I don't think it is dramatically better then CO or NWA.
