Hi, I usually fly SWA into Orlando and have had good experiences with SWA. I have flown into the Sarasota airport a couple of times and used United Airways. Prices right now are the BEST on Delta, flying into Sarasota at the very end of July. I have not flown on Delta. Anybody have experience good or bad with Delta airlines?? Thanks, Joan

As much as I love flying Southwest, I also love flying Delta. Like Southwest, they give free peanuts/pretzels/cookies. Their flight crews are also extremely nice. Assuming you are connecting in Atlanta, it is a very straightforward airport to connect in if you have ample time. Also, remember to factor in checked bag costs as Southwest allows two checked bags for free and Delta charges $25 per bag.

I've flown Delta a lot because for awhile they were the only ones with decent flights out of my home airport. They do charge bag fees and their employees aren't quite as happy as SWs but they aren't bad.

I did get rebooked once with out them telling me and I was not too happy about that (I arrived at the airport for my flight only to find out they had rebooked me earlier that day on a flight that left an hour earlier, needless to say I had missed it).

I would just watch your flights and seating assignments. As they change out planes seats get reassigned by the computer and you could get separated from your party.

I fly Delta almost exclusively (not that I fly much). You do need to keep watching your reservation and make sure they don't change your flights/seats. Sometimes if they change planes, they'll jumble your seats up.

After you make your reservation, check at least once a week to make sure everything is still ok.

If you get Delta's American Express Card, every person travelling in your party gets one free checked bag. There's a $95 annual fee, but it's waived the first year. You do NOT need to purchase your ticket with that card to get that benefit.

On any airline you can have a bad day or a good day.... Delta is your average airline. Nothing special either way. I fly them a lot because I live in Atlanta and that's makes me captive...

We really like delta. However I just made up my mind we are leaving Delta airlines after this trip and will be going to southwest airlines. Delta out of DTW is getting insane with prices. Delta has always been good to us (so far). Even on our last trip, plane had problems. The delayed us, then had us run to the other side of the terminal to catch another plane. We left 45 min late and we still landed on time :)

I thought I would be transferring to SW when they moved into Atlanta.. but they are generally the same or even higher then Delta.... No real deals there :(

I have always had great experiences flying delta, but they have gotten INSANELY expensive for their DTW-MCO flights recently, so I have been looking at other airlines. I may book SWA out of Flint or Grand Rapids. I like that Delta is a nice airline with clean and attractive terminals at DTW, but SWA gives free bags and is way cheaper, so I may have to switch this time around.

If Delta is the best price than I would not hesitate to book with them. I wish they were the best price for me!

I like Delta and have never had any problems, I don't have much of a choice flying from DTW to MCO non stop, it's either Spirit or Delta. I would use them again in a heart beat.

It's what I've flown the most. Never had any problems. Just booked with them on this next trip because they were the best price and one of the only direct carriers. I was surprised they were the best priced because I usually think of Delta as being more expensive.

I don't fly a lot, but usually fly Delta. I just booked our flight last night to WDW in November using Delta, I have been watching prices obsessively for weeks and I happened to check last night at 11 and prices had come down almost $100 per ticket! I feel very comfortable using Delta.

This! We've flown Delta a few times and they do have a habit of changing their schedules and rebooking your flights so keep an eye on it. They will email you when they rebook it so check your email often.

The flights themselves have all been fine, but the rebooking can be a pain. The farther out you book, the more likely they will change the flights around.

If they do change your flights, call them if the flight times won't work for you or they give you a tight connection time. You may be able to get rebooked to something better. We were rebooked onto a flight once that had a 40 min connection. We weren't comfortable with that so we called and they changed it for us at no charge.

Do *NOT* count on the bolded. If you book with ANY airline, it will behoove you to frequently check and make sure there have been no changes. Even if the flight times don't change, your assigned seats may change. Keep a look out.

And I just want to point out, there is no guarantee Delta will change your flight. I booked 10.5 months out with OK times (but cheaper in cost), gambling that Delta would make a change and I could pick my more desired time. The total changes between 4 flights was 30 minutes.

That's a good point. I've always gotten an email, but I can see how that wouldn't always be the case.
