I went yesterday and noticed there's also wooden fencing around that area (similar to what they have around Jaws).
I found it ironic, as I had just been discussing with someone a few days ago how I really hope they do something with that space (another attraction, please?!). It would bring some life to an otherwise uninteresting area.
I think that rumour was denied.
Latest news (from Orlando United) is that a permit to demolish it has been filed. Some good sleuth-work over there!!
Another interesting thing I noticed when I went a few weeks ago was when I sat in the front row of the T2 ride the first day, the Schwarzenegger character was riding the motorcycle. When I went the next day, he had no motorcycle! Wondering if it was broken or what?
Wow, if they demolish that building, it would make a ton of room to put something else there. I would assume it makes more sense to put something in the existing space. What used to be there?

While it has been rumored forever, this year it is actually factual.

Permit for B44 - Herc/Xena.
Who knows if this is the reason, but with limited queue space (unless they go inside), it makes sense.![]()

The permit filed today is to demolish Soundstage 44.
Originally it was the Murder She Wrote attraction. It was replaced with the Xena/Herc attraction.
Since then... it's been empty.
Wow. Wonder if when they were scouting the place planning the HHN house if they discovered something. I know I'd heard talk about how since the building has been virtually abandoned for years that there were some concerns over it's integrity.
Hmmmm.... You know, this will likely also impact the American Express lounge since it's in the building. Also, I'm working off the top of my head, but is Monsters Cafe in the backside of that building? or is it a seperate structure?
Maybe they'll have the props on stage tonight for ZZ Top since their songs were used in BTTF?![]()
I've heard that one of the soundstages is unsafe structurally. Is that true and is it this one?
Soundstage 44 was one of the dead zone area in the park, similar to the old Hard Rock Cafe building (which was demolished last october after sitting idle for 12 years)
Pretty sure they have been wanting to do something for this area for years, and finally got the ok. It's turning the studios into a very construction heavy park this year, however, but it's sorely needed.
Another deadzone area is Cafe LaBama and the Garden of allah areas, which are at least nice to look at, but have nothing going on there.
Since this is a major walking area near the front of the park, I could see whatever construction/demo going on here done at a very rapid (expensive) pace. Looks like they rushed the permit through and started work before the ink dried, or it could have been more in line with Dispicable Me coming up finally.
