Dell Laptops- Your opinions?

I support over 200 pieces of Dell equipment, including laptops, and they have been outstanding. We have had very few issues, but when I have had to use tech support, it has been unbelievable. I have the part I need the next day.

Now, that being said, I deal solely with the Optiplex (desktop) and Latitude (LT's) lines, which are professional/business lines. The Dimensions and Inspirons have "lesser" support and warranties I'm not saying they are bad in that area at all, I just don't have the experience with them. I have heard they are making a HUGE effort on customer service to get back to where they were.

I do have a Dimension DT at home, and have been very happy with it. I have an all-in-one printer that I am not completely happy with, but in their defense, someone else makes their printers. I am thinking about getting a Dell laptop, but my 9 year old IBM THinkPad 600e is still running like a champ with WIN2K and Office 2003.

We have a dell laptop (1.5 years old) and a dell desktop (4.5 years old) and they have both held up great so far. The few times I've had to call tech support, my experiences were very good. I do not, however, like their printers.

I have to agree on the printer. I got one free with one of my desktops. It's a scanner/printer/fax. If I had paid for it, it would have gone back.
