I bought tickets last week for Cirque Du Soliel's newest production called "DELIRIUM"!!! We will see it Friday night at Worcester's DCU Center.

My family just loves  all the Cirque's and have been to quite few between Boston/Orlando/Vegas!!

Has any DISer's seen this new show? I would love reviews! Or just if you have even heard anything about the show!!!

:disrocks: :jumping1: :thanks:

Good for you :) I haven't seen any of the Cirque shows, but I'd like to see the new Beatles Cirque show in Vegas :)

I heard it was more Music based we had it this weekend and a co-worker went .

Said it was very nice just not the story line of La Nouba .

We just couldn't swing it with all our trips this year planned so we just looked at the trucks on the way to the FREE for US ballgame yesterday.

It will be here in Denver shortly. I love Cirque and have been to most of the shows. For some reson this one doesn't intrest me. I have heard the music and it doesn't do much for me.

After you go you will have to let us know how you liked. Maybe you will change my mind.

It's supposed to be music-based. It was here in Houston not too long ago, but we were in WDW when tickets were available.

The only one I've seen live is Verakai and it was awesome! DH took me for Valentine's Day and we had front row seats. :thumbsup2

We went to see Delirium this past Friday night in Baltimore.

Not show related, but I'm really hoping that the Baltimore Arena was just having a/c problems and that it isn't normally THAT HOT in the arena! OH MY GOD. It was like a sea of people fanning themselves through the whole show. I don't sweat that much during a double header softball game! When we were leaving and taking the elevator in the parking deck, there was a guy in the elevator who had worn a button down shirt and it was completely soaked. Now that's just ridiculous! I've been to the arena many times in the past, but I think it's always been for ice shows. We almost always try to go to the MCI Center if a show is in both places (this one was not) because I prefer to take the metro instead of drive into Baltimore.

As for the show - honestly, I was not all that impressed. But probably because it was more music based, as others have said. We saw La Nouba in January and it's probably my favorite show I've ever seen in my entire life. I knew it wasn't the same as La Nouba going in, but for me, it was just ok. Now don't get me wrong, I did like it, but I didn't love it. There were definitely parts that fascinated me, as they do indeed do some acrobatic stunts, etc., just not really anything like La Nouba. There were also parts I thought were extremely slow. And one of the singers' voices (I won't say which, so as to not bias you), really grated on my nerves, so every time this person would sing, I would cringe, but I thought the others were very good. One other thing we didn't know going in, and I'm not sure if it's always this way in other markets, but our tickets said it started at 8pm, but actually a female singer (www.nitza.com) took the stage for 20 minutes beforehand, then there was a 20 minute intermission, then Delirium started. Had we known that, we wouldn't have been so stressed about making it on time after having dinner.

Take my comments with a grain of salt. Some of the parts I thought were slow, my sister absolutely adored!

Have fun and give us a review when you get back.

I went to the one in Houston and honestly I did not like it. I was so excited to go and see it but felt i wasted my money. But it is just my opinion and hope you like it. I have not ever seen any other circue shows so I cannot compare them to other but this one was music based from all circque shows put together.

Sorry, momrek06. Another one here who was disappointed in Delirium. I've been to about 5-6 different CdS shows and Delirium was by far my least favorite. It is not a typical CdS show and if you don't try to compare it to the other shows, you might like it.

Ahhh...bummer, you guys! You know I should have guessed something like this as believe it or not NOTHING ever comes to Worcester. We always and I mean ALWAYS have to go one hour to Boston to see any shows!!!

Well, I got my Tix yesterday's mail and we go on Friday and I will be back to post my review...but at $125.00 pp...I am so hoping we like it...

Thank you all for being so honest!!! :sunny:

Sorry, it was also my least favorite CDS, and I have seen 4 or 5. I didn't care for the words being added to the music. To me, it took away from the whole magic. Also, it was hard to follow, way too abstract to me. I like there being a story that is usually not too hard to pick up on, but I never did understand this one. The acrobatics were impressive, but still not as impressive as other CDS shows.

On a positive note, while it was my least favorite, it was my DH's absolute favorite. He loved the technology in it that isn't in others we've seen. And he really enjoyed the music.

Either way, if you haven't seen others, it will be enjoyable for you. If you have seen others, then you will have a definate opinion of which style you prefer, since they are very different.

ETA: Someone else mentioned the lady singing at the beginning. I didn't like her either--too long and slow compared to other shows, too.

The family and I just returned from Delirium....hummm....very interesting I must say.

The lady in the first act was good BUT it was so loud we did not understand any of the words to the songs.

Delirium gets a definite A+ for creativity. That portion is fabulous. The musicians were wonderful, the singers awesome, the acrobats outstanding....all that being said....we really did not know what was going on. There are many many people on the stage at once. I had a tad bit of trouble exactly who I should be watching. It started at 8pm with the pre-show (the singer) an intermission and then Delirium for 90 minutes. I do not think I would go again BUT do not feel tonight was a total loss either...I will still recommend it for those interested in anything Cirque. Overall B-!!! :goodvibes

We saw Delirium when it was here about a month or so ago. I think you'll enjoy it but it definitely was NOT as good as the previous shows we saw-- most notably La Nouba, which I LOVE. Anyways, it's really just a bombardment of senses. . . I can't even explain. . . it was SO much to see and SO much to hear, but the more we talked about it after the show, the less we liked it. And at the end? Inflatable sperm. hahaha. No kidding.

Basically, the essential problem we had with the show was the stage. They built this big rectangle in the center. They want to put it on anywhere. It seems they don't make good use of the space that they're in. They tried to make up for that, maybe, with a barrage of images and sound to overwhelm you. It's not a stadium show but it's in a stadium. Gee, I guess we were disappointed with it the more we talked about it. But, you don't notice right away because it opens up and it seems as if you are right in the middle of a music video. .. it's surreal. And, because that's very impressive, you just stay amazed for awhile.

Sorry, don't want to burst your bubble. But, kids will definitely love it because part of it is just so 'cool'. . . and they've never seen anything like this before, so to them, it's amazing.

Less acrobatics than past shows, for sure.

momrek06: Good review, and I will agree with you. We saw Delirium in Charlotte, NC back in April 2006.
The musician who played the string instrument (not a guitar, but don't know its name) was AWESOME. He should have his own concert.
Glad you enjoyed the show, I did too. It was different than any other.
