Hello!
I, along with DW, have been reading many fantastic trip reports for about a year now, and we are getting ready to head off to WDW in a few days, so I thought that I'd "ante up" and give my own food report a try. This may be terrible, so bear with me...I'm new.
First, we should meet the crew. We are a family of three living in the great state of Michigan. We are both music teachers, and in addition to all things Disney, love family time and college sports (especially MSU...GO STATE!!!).
J - Me - a 29-year old who likes to eat a whole bunch. DW says that I am picky, but I don't agree. I just know what I like to eat!
I am probably a "meat and potatoes" person, and I really enjoy desserts.
S - DW - 29-years old, and my best friend in the whole world.
Loves food, but eats in much smaller quantities than I. However, when hungry, she has been known to impress with her eating skill and speed (as in, "did someone just take your food while I wasn't looking?"). Will never turn away a good dessert.
A - 7 months - The new guy in the family (and our first addition!). Enjoys whatever real food we put in front of him, which right now is rice cereal and a little bit of fruit once a day. The rest of the time, only bottles...
I - 26 years old - My brother, who will be joining us for a few days down there. Loves food, but hasn't really ventured outside the "this is what I'm used to" box. Has never been into really swanky stuff, but really loves steak, so I'm hoping that he enjoys some of the nicer restaurants that we visit.
We are going to Disney with good friends of ours. We are celebrating the (upcoming) HS graduation of one of their daughters, who also happens to be a student of ours. In total, there will be 8 of us (9 on the days that my brother is there), but in order to keep mostly sane
I will only be reporting on our families choices. We have been planning this trip since this past summer, and I have been doing the planning, so I am excited to go.
A little about the logistical stuff...we are staying for 7 nights at the WL
. We have only stayed there for one night before, and we really enjoy it. This will be our friends' first time staying on property. Our trip has pretty much been built around our dining schedule. Since we are staying on the CL, I utilized the IPO to get all of our ADR's, including CRT for breakfast. This has worked out splendidly, especially because we had to time our meals around A's feeding schedule. I am pleased to say that we were able to get every single ADR that we requested, and each one was withing 15 minutes of when we requested it to be. The only teeny-tiny bummer is that it looks like a few of the ADR's have us seated at two seperate tables, but we are going to request that they are next to each other, so hopefully that will work out ok.
...as a side note here, I am going to plug staying on CL to be able to use the IPO. They are wonderful, and it makes things so much easier. If you can swing it...DO IT!!!
We are doing the DxDP, and although I know that this is alot of food, it will allow us to eat at the niceer places each night and have the flexibility to do what we want to down there. Here is what we have for our ADR's each day...
