If I have 4 nights booked and want to cancel the last night, does Member Services have to withdraw the whole thing and check for availability again for the other 3 nights? Or do they simply cancel the last night and leave the other 3 nights alone?
MS can modify the reservation to shorten/extend the reservation (at beginning or end) without needing to cancel & rebook. To extend, there must be availability for the additional night(s).

I've done that more than once and never lost a reservation. It's not a cancel & re-book according to MS.
I usually send MS an email to do this, being very careful to include all the relevant information about my existing reservation and also to specify what I want to end up with for a reservation. I use the CONTACT US feature of the members website. Since I haven't been in a hurry to get it done, I'd rather not sit on hold or have a CM hurry through the transaction.
