I should imagine you'll get as may votes for one as t'other.

POR has 5 pools, good theming, boat hire, cycle hire, a nice bar lounge and a full service restaurant. But it's after POFQ on the bus route so the bus is frequently full, and as it has twice as many rooms as POFQ its Food Court can be very busy.

POFQ has 1 pool, but is much more compact. But it has no full service restaurant, and doesn't really have a proper bar lounge. Of course, you can always walk to Riverside if you want those things (or get the boat).

We stayed at POR - beautiful place!! Didn't have a big problem with the food court, even at busy times. Also didn't have a problem the bus service, but that might have been because we went to the parks after the "rushhour"! So in that case, the bus wasn't full when we got on and then it was straight off to the parks. Especially as we stayed in Oak Manor and we got the bus at the "East Depot" which was close by - things might have changed, but at that time it was the last one on the route!! Coming back was a different story - often had to stand on a full bus, but you do get to sit down once all the POFQ people get off!!

Here is a map of Riverside and here's (a rather different, and out of date!!) one of French Quarter!

My vote is for Riverside :)

It's really down to personal preferences, so check out all the info you can find on the two different resorts and see which one appeals to you the most.

If you do choose Riverside, you then need to decide whether you want to try for Alligator Bayou or the Mansions - decisions, decisions! ;)

If you like woodsy and more natural (if anything in WDW can be called 'natural!) go for Alligator Bayou in Riverside but if you like elegant and manicured go for the Mansions. Something in-between? Try the French Quarter.

I bet by the end of this thread you'll be really confused!

My vote goes to Riverside, great main pool on old man island and lots of satellite pools, seemed a lot more relaxed and informal tham FQ. Also has a better shop area with more choice, main food court is OK and Boatwrights nice but can be pricey. the boats to DTD to us this has to be the main selling point for either site. Rooms at Riverside OK max of 2 floors try for a room in Aligator Bayou nearer to reception and bus rather than magnolia bend. In all has something for both adults and kids we would not hesitate to go there again.
