We mix and match ears all the time. DL at WDW and vice versa. It just depends on who needs new ears on which trip since we actually use them so much they eventually wear out.
And since folks are telling stories, I have a hoodie that I really love with all the old logos of Epcot on it. It's actually not official and was from one of those print your own shirt places (maybe cafepress, but don't recall). Well, a whole bunch of CMs at Epcot kept telling me how much they liked it. On one hand I loved that they loved it. On the other hand I kept wondering if someone would turn me in for my non-licensed but totally awesome shirt. Since then more of the retro items and old logos have started coming back on park merchandise, which is great.
